So happy to see chickens on trees and friendly staff.

We loved the location, very peaceful, we enojyed listening to the birds singing in the morning while drinking coffe on the terrace. Inside really cosy, great atmosphere, very relaxing. Everything you could need is there, both in the bathroom (soap, shower gel, shampoo, slippers) and the kitchen, from cooking utensils to yummy cookies ;). Very kind and communicative owners, the response is always very fast.

Honestly I never write bad reviews but as much as this is a pretty location the beds were so uncomfortable my matress was non existent and the pillows were terrible - this is the most important factor for me so unfortunately it tainted everything else - if you charge high rates then the facilities need to match. The restaurant wasn't open not sure why ......

Cercedilla is a fantastic place for hiking just an hour from Madrid with a train line from Atocha. It has many well-marked trails with different degrees of difficulty for all kinds of hikers. The town itself if pretty and has plenty of restaurants and a few shops. Definitely worth a weekend.

Cercedilla is a great place to enjoy the nature of the mountains close to Madrid. It is easy to reach by a local train and the trekking paths are well marked. Some great places like the Mirador de los Poetas and the Ducha de los Alemanes can be reached by a wider forest road, so they are accessible also with smaller children. However, if you prefer walking the narrower paths, you can use them as well. There are also shorter, easy but still very beautiful routes if you don't want to walk all day, e.g. the one that goes to the Ermita de San Antonio. The village itself is also charming and has some great places to eat or enjoy a cup of coffee/tea with some Spanish delicacies. There are some nice small shops where you can find local products. If you are into bird watching, you should spend a few moments in e.g. the Prado park to see azure-winged magpies. And obviously, in the mountains/forest you can spot many other birds as well.

Wish I could have stayed longer.
Wish I could have stayed longer. Decided to hike Camino Schmidt. At the visitor centre they did not tell me that the last 5km were mostly covered in snow so I was a bit unprepared and it took long but it was beautiful. If you want to do this in winter, you will need a proper hiking stick or ski pole. Everyone hiking was friendly and helpful

Excellent walking with various routes to suit most abilities. I recommend going to the Visitor Centre first to get the information.
Be aware that it's difficult to park near the start of some trails at the weekend as the carpark gets very busy. However, it's easy to walk from the centre of Cercedilla (either on the trails or on the footpath next to the road). I believe there's also a bus from the centre of the town up to the hills and to the piscina too.
My friend and I loved everything about this hotel. We did a short overnight stay from Madrid so that we could enjoy the fresh mountain air and hikes in the area. The woman who runs reception is so lovely and helpful. She explained the history of the property and gave us tips for the area. The property is just off of the main road, but very quiet. They have nice outdoor seating to enjoy the cool evenings in the summer. The breakfast was delicious and we were able to leave our bags during the day while we hiked, which was great!
Amazing place!! Both the common area (kitchen and bathroom were clean and organized) and the bungalow was beautiful. The place has it’s kinda magic due to the contact with the nature and all the wood-crafted thing one can find in the place. This place in winter when is snowing is a fairytale.
The staff was kind and treated us so well. Definitely I won’t hesitate to come back here.
PS: The restaurant next to the Posada is an amazing option for trying spanish food! great dishes and amazing staff
Hostel Maya is a very good value lodge located in the heart of Cercedilla. You definitely feel the atmosphere of being in the mountains. Clean and comfortable with lots of great eating options on your doorstep. The heated terrace outside Mayas restaurant provided good value food at all times of day, and there is a superb restaurant next door as well. Rooms basic but adequate, with decent bathroom. Easy to come and go from Hostel with freedom.
Everything was so perfect! We've been to many vacation homes in Spain and elsewhere in the past, nothing comes close to the level of care and detail at El Motivo - from the actually well equipped kitchen, the breakfast supplies, the cooled beer glasses to the ready to use BBQ facilities with kindling already in place. Well worth any price difference from other places nearby.
Superbly fitted space, very well-thought out design with attention to detail. Light and airy rooms, with good quality for everything. Liked particularly that it was possible to relax both on the main floor and in the bedroom area. (And twin sinks always welcome!) Location is excellent for Cercedilla, and for walking out of.
This rural hotel was an excellent stay. It's a campus style that's a hybrid hotel/group of cabins. I stayed in a cabin and it was a cozy stay. It was well insulated, I stayed in the summer and the inside was cool during the day. We went hiking and the trail starts right next to the casa rural.
Excellent accommodation in room with balcony, food and drink from bar very good with regional cooking.
Prices very good, personnel friendly and helpful.
Hostel is in centre of Cercedilla with shops and bars nearby. Station about 20 minutes walk.
Good area for walking.
The location was great, near enough Cercedilla town for a nice walk (25min) or short trip by car (5min) through dirt road. The room was spacious with lovely balcony and nice views. In a quiet area. The restaurant in the hotel was handy and staff serving were very good.
Beautifully decorated.
Exceptionally clean.
super helpful friendly staff.
Great selection of toiletries. There is even toothpaste!
Fabulous continental breakfast
lovely terrace with mountain views. Fab bar area and reading lounge.
Gorgeous hotel dog
The apartment is on the first floor with a lovely balcony to sit out in the sun in the mornings. The double bed was comfy and we had everything we needed. Cercedilla is a great little town and there is a supermarket very close
-The house was beautiful, spacious, and clean 🏡
-Cristina was extremely hospitable and an excellent overall host 🤝
-Location is excellent for anyone looking to hike, we got lucky and hiked the mountains in the snow 🥾
Beautiful apartment in a great location in Cercedilla and the apartment has everything you might need. I would definitely come back and plan to do it =)
Host is very frindly kind and helpful.
I’m so glad I stayed here, close to the beginning of the ascent to Fuenfria on thw Camino Madrid. Restaurant next door, store across the street and trim station cafeteria all very convenient.
The small team of the Rozuelas has been nothing but charming and helpful. The grounds are a marvel. And the hotel is practically in the forest, which was perfect for my hiking.
A small but cute room. The hotel is in the center of the town so you have everything you need just around the corner, such as restaurants, churreria, shops...
Everything, being in the mountains of Madrid, great location to relax from big city life. Close to restaurants, shops, walking in the woods and much more
