María and Jorge run a secret jewel of a hotel. Tucked away from all traffick, at the end of a road in a mountainous area, the Balneario sits almost on top of a hill with splendid views. We came in late April, which may be the best season, because nature boasts with rolling hills of beautiful flowers. The hotel is truly 5 star, an exiting mix of modern architecture and use of old pieces from villages and even favorites. The door to our bathroom was and old factory steel door.
The highlight of the place are the hot springs. All water of the hotel comes from these hot springs, and you can drink it from tap. The hotel has a thermal bath with various indoor pools with jet streams and an outdoor pool. While the hotel is much larger, María and Jorge rent out only a few rooms. This guarantees that all guests can have their private times in the spa.
María and Jorge are wonderful persons, who live for their idea of a perfect place in harmony with nature. We have not felt as guests, but as part of the family. Many thanks to you, María and Jorge.
Finally, if you are a tea drinker, bring your own tea and try it with Calabor water. Our experience was that we never drank better tea than in Calabor.

A very welcome break on the Camino. Bedroom very clean and more than adequate, bed very comfy, Bathroom clean, water plentiful and shower hot. The restaurant not only has a menu del día but also an extensive menu which includes dishes made from local mushrooms and funghi. The staff are a little reserved but very professional and helpful. Being a roadside hotel the cafe opens very early in the morning and provides an excellent breakfast at very reasonable cost. Overall good value for money.

Only pastries and toast offered at breakfast but the croissants are HUGE as were the coffees and proper fresh orange juice. Quite a walk into the town but doable. Comfy beds and nice rooms. There is a bar downstairs but this was closed the night we stayed so don’t know if it’s good or if it’s noisy. Enough parking outside for motorbikes.
