The location was perfect for staying the last night of our touring holiday before catching the ferry at Santander. The breakfast was delicious, the staff all very friendly & welcoming. The use of garage to park our motorbike at no extra cost was a bonus. Our bathroom/shower was lovely.

Lovely welcoming family, who treat you with kindness and care. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, some with terraces. Big garden, with sun loungers. Easy parking, motorbike friendly. Great location within a short walk of the more crowded Potes.
Highly recommend, wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The location has amazing views and is really peaceful! Our host, Alberto was also very friendly and hospitable. The seating area outside is lovely to enjoy paired with a bottle of wine.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and kindly found a place to store my bike. The hotel is well placed in Potes - close enough to the main attractions but in a quiet spot.
THE CHEESE, oh my gosh. We loved it. Picturesque village with a stunning view of the mountains. Close to other villages like Potes and close to sights and hikes in the Picos. Narrow and winding streets (not many streets in the whole town) and historic architecture. We didn’t dislike anything.
We ate in Potes and also at the restaurant at the campground across the street from Baro but there are tons of restaurants in the area. We did the Bajo de Picos hike (very close to Baro) and the Cares Gorge hike (a 1.5 hour scenic drive from Baro). I’m pregnant and we had limited space in our bags as we are traveling for three weeks, so we did easier hikes in the area - would totally do some of the more intense hikes though. Definitely check out the local shops in the surrounding villages that sell local products. And buy a ticket early in the day for the cable car at Fuente De or else you might end up waiting for three hours to go up and another three hours to come down from the top.
We like the vibe of the hotel it felt like being visiting relatives. The hotel is small and the owner is the one that serves the breakfast in the morning. The breakfast is simple but with just what you need for a fresh start. She makes some fresh pastries that were very good. The room was very spacious and adequate for my husband, me and 11 year old daughter.
We loved our stay at La Casona de Baró. Ana, our host was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and charming. The Casona is well situated in the gorgeous Picos de Europa, and the Fuente Dé tram is relatively close by. A great value with lots of charm.
The ladies running the hotel are lovely. Breakfast was great, with delicious local fried dough balls (we forgot the name) in fantastic setting. The whole hotel looks simply gorgeous. So much attention to atmosphere and detail! It's a pity we only stayed one night.
Super nice family-run hotel. They really made us feel at home. Perfect place to stay when hiking in the beautiful Picos de Europa. Only breakfast available so you’ll need a car to have dinner.
