The house was very rustic and clean and charming on the top end of the village, with parking not too far from the accommodation.
The family greeted me and showed me round and how to light the stove, the son spoke a little English but the mother spoke none.
There was constant hot water in the property, which is a bonus in an old Spanish house.
My dog was able to stay and there was a lovely old castle nearby to walk him around, as well as in the village itself.

The effort of going up the steep narrow streets in Baños is rewarded by the great countryside views and the sights of the monuments, which are very well preserved. My husband and children particularly liked the Hermit and the two storks who were nesting there. Lots of walking paths and, if you take the car, you can go to the lovely old mining village of El Centenillo, in the midst of Sierra Morena.

The apartment is in a lovely old building next to the castle. It is well equipped, the owner helpful and Baños de La Encina is an enchanting village. The castle and hermitage were fascinating. There are plenty of places to buy food and we found one excellent restaurant, which had just been open a short while. It was easy to park close to the casa. This is a great place for exploring the countryside. We went on an excellent trip with Bird and Lynx Ecotourism and enjoyed a visit to Baeza, with its lovely Renaissance architecture.
Probably this rural hotel is the best we have ever had the pleasure in staying. The location was excellent, the design and decor stunning. The restaurant and service faultless. Can not help but recommend it to all who would enjoy a stay in a small but interesting village with a beautiful castle and superb views.
Banos de la Encina is a beautiful place. We loved the house and the beautiful view. We enjoyed the pool and the childeren loved the chickens. The owner of the place, Laura, is very friendly. Thank you Laura for the stay. We loved everything about it.
The Hotel was very nice and well appointed.
Loved the location and style it presented.
Although no parking on site, we were aware of this, but the Hotel Manager parked our car for us in a secure location nearby. This was greatly appreciated.
