Large rooms with comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and quality towels. We only stayed one night, did not have breakfast and ate at a restaurant in town so cannot comment on facilities etc. Also it was raining, not conducive to wandering around the grounds. Plenty of off-street parking and close to the main square.

This hotel was closed for decoration and therefore diverted to Retiro de la Maestre.
Located in a restored 17th century townhouse, rooms at Casa del Rector are set around 3 courtyards and feature free Wi-Fi. The on-site spa offers a heated indoor pool and sauna, for an extra cost.

From initial enquiries regarding parking until check out, staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. On arrival we were greeted by most helpful staff and in the evening the staff went out of their way to provide us with a fantastic wine and cheese night cap. The location is ideal - away from Plaza Mayor but only an 8 minute walk from town centre.
The hotel cum spa is very tranquil and the bedroom although a basic double was more than adequate. Plenty of hot water and beds were very comfy.
Only 13 minutes on foot from Almagro Train Station, Hotel Almagro features an outdoor swimming pool, garden with deck chairs, and rooms with air conditioning.
Sadly, I wasn't able to stay in Almagro for very long.
Sadly, I wasn't able to stay in Almagro for very long. It was an overnight stay as part of a longer trip. My general impressions are that you could spend a couple of days there, possibly longer, exploring the town and its surroundings. The main square is interesting, with its historic town hall and a first floor 'balcony' which stretches almost its whole border. Also in the main square is a good selection of restaurants and tapas bars.
Almagro is very 'walkable', and flat. From my hotel, a steady wander took me around a lot of it in a couple of hours.
One thing I would say is that Almagro is a little off the beaten track, and as such is very Spanish. If you make the effort to learn some of the language (which is a useful tip for anywhere), it will enhance and make your visit a lot easier. In my time there I didn't hear any language other than Spanish being spoken.

We had no expectations of this hotel, it was a one night stay en-route elsewhere but we were all very pleased with this parador and would definitely put it on our list for future stays. Lovely facilities close to a fantastic Plaza Mayor in the town that was amazing with very atmospheric bars and restaurants.

A delightul,historical town.
A delightul, historical town. Enthusiastic guide of the town with the open theatre and church having QR codes so the information can be downloaded in English. Fascinating private museum of trades historically carried out in the town. Guided tour of local winery given by the owner. Easy to drive to the windmills of La Mancha or to Ubeda and Baeza.

The town had little going for it and town restaurant food was quite ordinary. I am still wondering why I booked to stay here for four nights! The large original 500 yo windmills were an hour and a half away(my bad). The local special garnacha wine I thought I’d find was very, very scarce.

Almagro is located near to the main E-5 road south, so convenient for a stopover on route to Costa del Sol. The Plaza Mayor is often featured on FB pages as a top place to visit. There are a few bars and gift shops under two-storey accommodation. Worth a visit if you like this sort of thing - but no need to stay too long. We ate at Abrasador Restaurante (just off the Plaza Mayor) which was only average in food quality and service. Our Hotel, Retiro del Maestre (which was very good) recommended Restaurante El Corregidor, and maybe we should have gone there. Having visited Almagro once, we would not dash back as there are plenty more places to visit on our travels.

Plaza Mayor a must.
Plaza Mayor a must. Many old buildings in town dating back to 1222. Tourist Information Office very helpful. Easy walking except some cobbles streets are tricky if mobility is a problem. Lots of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Met with friendly people everywhere.

The hotel was very conveniently situated with free parking nearby. The owner met us there and checked us in and explained where the local attractions were. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. There was a coffee machine and a fridge. Almagro is a lively interesting town. We were fortunate enough to buy tickets at the theatre there for the Saturday night performance.
Everything went well. Ample sized room, very clean, with a comfortable bed. Bonus, not usually found in Spanish hotels, tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was extra, but good value. The whole interior of the hotel was unusual and very pleasing.
The breakfast was great!
Staff was super nice.
Flexible check in.
Nice to have a covered pool!
Amazing internal courtyard with glass roof. In general, the hotel is beautiful, tastefully decorated and with plenty of common areas to relax or chat.
The hotel was really nice full of little patios and interesting corners. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It was excellent value for your money.
