Nice staff Hotel very well located, I arrived very late on a cold day and the room was very warm, hot water, Toilet in the room , very clean.

An amazing, quiet location. Just what we were looking for. They offer both food service and a self-catering kitchen. We went for a random walk and discovered the trail leading to 2 dinosaur footprint locations. About 2 hours return from the lodge. Cross over the river and head up towards the old church. A fairly flat path with great views following the contours of the mountains. We did it with closed sandals.
There is not a great deal of interest in Albelda itself...
There is not a great deal of interest in Albelda itself though it is within easy driving distance of a large number of rewarding places in Rioja. There does not appear to be a restaurant in town and, though several bar/cafe establishments serve food, our experience was not encouraging. However the Vinicola Real where we stayed, within walking distance of the centre of Albelda, made the stop worthwhile.

we didn't stay for a meal, but what we did see looked very good, the hotel was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful, the wine tasting and tour was very good, I don't speak Spanish, but they did their best to accommodate me and my girlfriend translated where she could, but I had a great time.
Well-designed and maintained hotel and winery in a good location. Had a great dinner, pleasant walk along the river nearby and a nice chat and tour around the property from the staff. Would definitely come back!
