Reception is the bar. You are given your keys and shown to your room in the building next door. There are steps and stairs if you of limited mobility.
Bedroom is a good size all very orange and pine wood. Double window with shutters and net curtains. Two single beds with good linen and cushions. Two bedside cabinets with lamps. A chair. A wardrobe and a built in cupboard. Television. The WIFI is good; works on the terrace.
Shower room is small, but, clean and with free toiletries. Shower over a half bath with a curtain. The shower works well with plenty of hot water. Towels.
In the shared area there is some soft seating. Downstairs/Outside is the bar terrace with lots of tables and chairs. The wall behind is the pelota court; which is well used. It’s a busy bar and hostel and deserves to be.
It’s a small village, but, opposite the hostal is an ATM and a shop. It’s a nice village; don’t forget to use the river swimming ‘pool’. Some nice walking and beautiful scenery.

Alarpe apertetxea is a peaceful place on a green hill with a beautiful view on the mountains. The staff was extraordinarily kind and available for all needs. The rooms are quiet and clean (just do not forget your anti mosquito spray in summer) and the breakfast was tasteful. I spent a great night over there during a bike solo trip. If other bikepackers are reading, just consider that the final climb can be quite steep 😜

Quite a large room, with a fridge. VERY comfortable matress. MW in the hall, a large supermarket around the corner. Fully automated check-in. Did not work at first (my reservation number was unrecognized) but finally it did.
