Everything, the hosts are very friendly, treated us to a cup of coffee upon our arrival. The property was clean, comfortable and quiet. Also had plenty of hot water that allowed for an enjoyable shower, which is something that cannot be said about other facilities that I have previously stayed at.

Jarabacoa is a fantastic place to visit for its people, spring type of climate even in summer time, natural beauty, the waterfalls, the facilities in terms of supermarkets, restaurants and other businesses, etc.

The hotel and location were beautiful.

The hotel and location were beautiful. The restaurant food was good for lunch and dinner and the portions were very large. The hotel offered a number of options for things to do, both included and optional. The rooms need to be upgraded as Superior is not an accurate description. Request a deluxe room.

We needed a place to stay in our trip from the South coast to the North coast. Casa Tranquila was a peace haven, facilities much more extensive that we expected, with a very homely feeling and a wonderful welcome (we were coming from bad experience with larger hotels where they kept you waiting 2h at reception) There is a very nice pool and a basketball court! This served us as a training area for the morning, we could run, exercise in the open air of the early morning hours, surrounded by greenery, birds chirping, the blue pool next to us, and all topped up by a great breakfast and a very cosy, nice conversation with some of the staff. The town is a 5 min drive and there are waterfalls to visit also within easy reach by car - perfect to arrive late evening, go for dinner in town, have a good breakfast, visit some wonderful nature and head off to the road again. Would definitely love to go there again!

Nice place to take a rest from the beaches in the DR, close to mountains and waterfalls. Recommended for nature and hiking lovers. Didn't try the rafting but I know you can try some extreme adventures in that area also. On the way there you can see different landscapes, it's a bit cooler there than on the seacost. Public transport works well (Caribe buses & guaguas), but if you want to go to the Jimenoa Waterfalls on your own with moto taxi, make sure the driver knows which waterfall you want to visit. :D

Jarabacoa is one of the centres of outdoors activities in DR...

Jarabacoa is one of the centres of outdoors activities in DR but has surprisingly little infrastructure, especially for non-local tourists. Hotels and homestays are far and few between, most budget options are 15-20 minutes from the centre. The town itself is not that interesting. Dining is decent, however, with lots of restaurants available. You would be far better off with your own transportation here, but there is only one place where you can rent a scooter, not very cheaply. Don't come here only for the waterfalls - they are just okay, nothing special. However, if you like paragliding, rafting or just mountain roads, this town makes a great base.

We were on a self drive tour and Jarabacoa was for a short stopover through a mountainous are of Dominican Republic. Some of the attractions were via unpaved roads not allowed to be used in a rental car.

Willy's House proved to be a perfect spot for our group of five. The house is very modern and clean, with a sliding gate for security. It's very conveniently located, close to the main part of town and easily walkable to shopping and restaurants. It looks like all of the properties in Willy's Plaza are equally as nice. The owner maintained great communication from the time of our booking to the time we left, and the property manager was friendly and helpful. I give Willy's House my highest recommendation for Jarabacoa.

What we liked the most was that the property is in a place where you can live with nature, a lot of peace and tranquility; In addition, the hosts are super friendly, willing to help you with everything. I recommend this accommodation for families who want to be in a nice and central place from all the tourist places that Jarabacoa has. On the property, you can make BBQ, bonfires, feed the animals, in short you can do many activities and the children will never get bored. 100% recommended!

Claudio and Michaela are lovely hosts. The homemade food was delicious and I enjoyed having good conversations at dinnertime. Mi Hogar is locate din the middle of an eco project in the woods on Jarabacoa and serenly quiet (yes, there are roosters - but we are in the Dominican). Michaela also offers massages, which I was fortunate to experience - very recommendable. If you need time away from the lovely (and bustling) coastline, this is it.

I was visiting Jarabacoa with a friend and just needed a place to stay overnight...We enjoyed the peaceful place, the nature...I would recommend it to someone who is looking for tranquility, disconnect from the city and at the same time enjoy nature. Apart from everything, the place is located about 15 - 20 minutes from the city of Jarabacoa... Excellent treatment from the owners of the place.

The rooms were clean and nice. The location looked very nice. The views and river saved the hotel. The hiking looks fun. Its not a place to spend time in. It is absolutely a place you just sleep then leave and go on adventures all day.
