Of all the hotels I've stayed at during a two week trip in Europe, the friendly, helpful and warm staff here were remarkable, and really stood out. I'd thoroughly recommend staying staying at the Nattergalen.
The staff member who checked me in was friendly, professional and knowledgeable about Odense and the local area. The next day, another staff member was extremely helpful in assisting me with hiring a bike from the hotel, and getting everything set up for a local trip of around 60km.
The buffet breakfast was excellent. A wonderful range of good quality breads, scrambled eggs, cereals, fruit and tea and coffee.
The hotel is an easy 6-8 min walk from the central train station, so very convenient in that regard, and also very convenient for walking into and around central Odense.

H C Andersen's museum and the park being part of the whole composition is quite awesome! We spent two days walking around Odense, so I’d like to come back and explore what Fyn (the island) has to offer.

We were there for New Year and visited a restaurant called Værdsat. The 9 course menu, wines and semi-informal service were great.
We live just outside Odense and just needed a room to stay for the night due to Odense having atrocious public transport outside the city's postal codes and there being a "five wines" menu with the meal 8D.
Odense is a lovely town with lots of history, some of which is being (IMHO) vandalised by modern architecture, which some people will love. But it is a fairly sleepy town with only the HC Andersen attractions being of real note to outside visitors. But there is enough to do here for a weekend. Come in the summer though, as it can be a bit grey and grim in the cold season.
Parking can be a problem and overpriced shop leases (not enough competition and too much real estate in the hands of too few people who know each other) mean that the selection of shops is a bit limited with more empty leaseholds than I like to see.

Good location and parking was easy to find and beside the hotel. We could pay and organize the parking at reception (who were very helpful).
Excellent restaurant and a very good breakfast (good quality food).
Nice room with an excellent shower, good bed, nothing to complain about.

The location was wonderful. In my first series of comments regarding our hotel, I forgot to mention that there is no television in the rooms. For me, that was not a problem, but it might be for others.

As the native home to Hans Christian Andersen, the city is built strongly around him. But not exclusively, with other attractions including the downtown Sankt Cnud Church and the many surrounding parks. The entire neighborhood around Andersen's birthplace has been preserved in the 19th century Danish style. I found the cuisine was top-notch at Grønttorvet and Marcantonio

I came for the Han Christian Andersen museums but Odense is charming on its own. Very walkable, safe, clean and friendly. The HCA museum far exceeded my expectations; indescribably incredible. I appreciate Odense even more after visiting Copenhagen next. I didn’t research or do well with restaurants. I’m so glad I ended the stay with a visit to Egeskov Castle.
The hotel is really close to the train station and the city center. Outside is very nice, but inside is GORGEOUS! Very stylish, big and well furnished. The room was not very big, but had everything I needed (shampoo/conditioner/bodyshower/bodylotion and most of all the hair drier), the bed was soft and clean. Beautiful bathroom in a perfect nordic style. Brekfast was incredible!!! The receptionist was extremely kind, she let me keep my luggage in the locker before my check-in. She spoke english and italian and I felt home!
This is a cheap hotel, so that one should not expect much. If you want an extra service (like the bed sheets), you will pay extra, and the price will rapidly become comparable with the "ordinary" hotel. A definite advantage is that the hotel is directly near the railway station, close to the center of the city - but it is surprisingly quiet, so that sleeping is comfortable. The breakfast is so-so, cold sandwiches (but good choice), juice, instant coffee.
The hotel is located a bit outside of the city center (around 2km). The room itself is quite small, but that was expected given the price we paid. The hostel has a nice courtyard where you can relax and a small forest behind it to walk in. The kitchen and dining area were clean and spacious. There is also a game area where you can play table tennis.
Don't forget your bed linen, it's quite expensive to rent.
The hotel's location is right in the city center. All important places are within walking distance. Check-in was smooth and without any problems. The hotel and rooms were clean. The rooms were spacious. There were 3 power outlets near each bed, which is sufficient for charging mobile devices. Breakfast was plentiful and good.
The staff was nice and welcoming. The location is not far from the train station and it is close to the historical city center. The reception area and lobby feature a coffee/tea room ideal for reading and starting a conversation with other guests. I like having access to a terrasse and enjoy having a beer there.

Main location where you can take a walk after work and go for shopping. Many parks are around as well.. All the staff were extremely supportive and flexible in changing the dates. Would recommend for sure.
