The breakfast was also excellent with lots of options, and there is no problem getting gluten-free options. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Great value.

Amazing view for breakfast. Breakfast was also very good. I was amazed at how well the lady at the front was able to keep up with the quest coming and going in addition to keeping the breakfast stock and the coffee hot. Overall, simply amazing. SO MUCH BETTER THEN THE BIG CHAINS.

Trier is an interesting town, however be aware all the facilities & services you might be familiar with & expecting, may not be available. Such as; taxi, Uber, restaurants open outside of regular hours - these may all be an issue, according to what we experienced.
Some of this was due to Christmas & New Years limited hours and services. Taxis and Uber-type services are an issue, and appear unreliable.

I love Roman history so Trier was a must-see for me.
I love Roman history so Trier was a must-see for me. The main tourist attractions are easily searchable online but the city is small enough to be completely walkable. I was there at the end of November and there were already Christmas markets set up which was fun to walk around - buy the Glühwein (mulled wine) if you're there at that time.
You have to eat at Weinstube Zum Domstein! They have traditional Roman food offerings which were delicious. I loved the meal so much, especially sitting in the Roman Basement (Römer Keller) where they have displayed Roman artifacts. Such a cool dining experience.

Trier is quaint and manageable for a small city.
Trier is quaint and manageable for a small city. Friendly and hospitable locals. There were enough English-speaking workers in various establishments. I enjoyed the walking trails. The city has a lot to offer for Roman history enthusiasts. It has a far reaching and interesting history as a city in its own right.

Trier is a beautiful town with historical buildings and a lot of interesting things to see and do!
Everything is close together in walking distance!
Nice restaurants with traditional food and friendly service. Lots of shopping options for all wallets and interests. Town maps and signs all over the town are helping to find what you want.
We loved the market squares and the Weinbrunnen in the middle where you get a lovely glass of wine most hours!
This is a clean well appointed hotel with a helpful owner and an excellent restaurant on site. Breakfast room is light and airy and the staff there are efficient. Double room was spacious, other than the bathroom, and our room had a small balcony at the rear of the hotel.
There is storage for pedal cycles and the excellent rear patio leads onto a path which leads in one direction to Trier, about 6.5 kilometres, and in the other direction north along the Mosel. Incidentally Trier is a great place to visit.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and the bed was VERY comfortable, and the location was absolutely excellent. We live in Germany, and this was our first time to Trier. We will be staying at this hotel every time we return from here on out. We will also be bringing family members to this hotel when they come to visit. The free breakfast was also excellent- included with the cost of our particular room, and great quality food with large selection. Such a great experience overall!
The best aspect of this hotel is a spectacular location - just actress the street from the Porta Nigra! View from my room was superb, and so much was in very easy walking distance. The room was a good size, and beds were comfortable. Breakfast, although expensive (typical for good German hotels), was a great buffet with many tasty offerings. I found my room to be clean, but some travelers in my group felt that the room was less clean than desired.
This property is fantastic and the location is central to shopping and the sites. The rooms are well appointed and maculate. Hotel staff goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. We arrived early and the staff kept our luggage safe and transferred to the room. Upon arrival we were treated to sparkling wine, and complimentary water, fruit and chocolate. This property is an unbelievable find for under $200 a night and breakfast included.
This is a good budget hotel with nothing especially to praise (except the breakfast, which was very good) but nothing in particular to criticize, either. It is reasonably close to the main tourist attractions and very close to one of the main squares of town. And perhaps most importantly, it is close to a very nice municipal parking lot. It was the perfect hotel for a one-night stay on my motor tour of western Germany.
Located about 20-25 minutes pleasant walk from downtown area. Parking lot is good deal if you can find a spot. We arrived after all spots were taken, so Hotel staff provided a map for parking next to the nearby Youth Hostel which is free at night. We parked there overnight and in the morning got the car before day charges began, and drove back to hotel to take a parking spot.
Some of the positives were the satisfactory breakfast buffet, the pleasant and efficient staff and the size of the room, compared to the price. The location is also fine, as it is about 30 minutes from the central station and the center of Trier.
The pricing was competitive and not another hotel in the area had comparable pricing.
Great for a medium-short stay.
Good design hotel at the bank of the Moselle. Closeby the center of Trier (15 minutes walk). Nicely decorated rooms (not all apparently are renovated already I read) and breakfast room with view on the river. Excellent shower. Good fresh breakfast. Friendly staff. Free WiFi in breakfast room and lobby. Dedicated hotel parking at the other side of the street.
The property was located down a lovely side street right in the centre of Trier. Perfect location. The building and rooms itself was exquisite. It really felt like you were cared about, not like chain hotels. A real family feel and the lady was extremely welcoming and pleasant. My mum and I were extremely pleased with our experience and would come again.
Plenty to eat for breakfast and a great opportunity to talk the owner who is very generous with advice and tips.
We rented some bicycles from the hotel and rode along the Mosel for a day. That was very nice. Bikes were good and easy to ride.
The place is a bit away from Trier itself, but the buses 8 or 87 (evening's) took us to Trier very easily.
Great location on a hill overlooking Trier. Friendly and supportive staff. Well sized room with small balcony, great to watch the sunset over the opposite side of the Moselle valley. Good breakfast with many choices. The hotel also offers a small selection of meals, an easy way to finish a long day sightseeing without having to go back into town.
The hotel is situated just on the south side of the old city of Trier, and everything in the old city is easily within walking distance. The room was very nicely arranged, and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, and well worth the cost. Hotel room was very clean and quiet.
Extremely well located in the centre of Trier.
Staff at reception and in restaurant was helpful and friendly. Room was efficient, the bathroom a bit small but sufficient, the bed was comfortable and had a good mattress.
Parking available in a public parking garage, with direct access to the hotel.
A very quiet room. We thought that the hotel was empty because we heard nothing, and were astonished to see the large number of people at breakfast. Good breakfast. Convenient parking. Recommended venue for Trier.
Clean modern hotel, good size room, close to main attractions of Trier. Staff were very helpful with an unusual request. Enjoyed staying here at an ok price. (€87) Aircon was great and easy to manage.
Good breakfast, staff very pleasant, excellent location. Particularly liked the provision of free water & soft drinks 24hr and parking for guests. Nice to see the hotel recovering after Covid.
Cute hotel and cozy, clean room. Self service check in and check out was awesome! And you cannot beat that location. It was only a 3-4 minute walk to the Chirstmas markets!
