CheckIn was great, everything done within less than a minute.
The room was really large, the bed was fantastic and also the bathroom had a strange smell at first (disappeared within five minutes with the running exhaust system) the shower was really good, clean and without any mold.
We had dinner in the restaurant with burgers, spare ribs and some salmon it all the meals were great. And: Absolutely okay in terms of price!
The Breakfast was also good.

Lovely quiet town. Great forest and Heide landscape hiking nearby. The toy museum is quaint and a wonderful discovery, amazing collections! The Felto felt and textile museum is stunning, great technical displays and examples of felt products. Also has an amazing view from the rooftop! Soltau is such a gem waiting to be discovered, great value for money. Definitely recommend!

Over the years that I have been away from Soltau major changes had taken place.
I had a very enjoyable time in Soltau the 4 days I was there.
Hopefully I will be back in the Spring of 2020

Small town, loads of possibilities to eat outside (Brauhaus Joh. Albrecht was our choice; local beer and enormous portions :)). Connection to Heide Park is once an hour (once every two hours during the day) per public transport, not really optimal. Taxi from Heide Park to Soltau was 20 €, a bit excessive for the 7 km distance.
Great property, friendly hosts, and plentiful breakfast. Performance far exceeded the price. Pretty little slice of northern Germany right on the cusp of the Heide. We had a warm welcome on Easter with chocolate eggs and rabbits in our room, and decorations on the table the next day. A dry, warm garage for our bicycles was much appreciated. If you want an authentic experience, stay with these nice people.
great location, the lady at the reception is very polite and attentive. She provided us with a lot of useful information. We will gladly come back here again :)
A very interesting town, the hotel is very suitable for families with small children - the interior of the rooms was created specially. Also nearby is a huge park with lots of swings.

The owners of Pensions Mertens were great hosts. The room and en-suite were spacious, comfortable and clean and check in was easy. The breakfast was very tasty and was served at a time of our choice which was quite early as we were visiting Heide Park. They gave us a brilliant recommendation for a local brewery restaurant which was the best meal of our stay! Thanks for having us!
A great experience! The room is large and very clean. The surrounding environment is quiet. The landlord is a very friendly person. When we went to Heide Park the next day, we couldn't get a taxi. The landlord drove us over. I strongly recommend this hotel if you would like to go to Heide Park. Must be five-star praise.
Used hotel to stay between two days of visiting the Heide roller coasters park - it was the closest available hotel we found.

They offer a good breakfast buffet. The location is very convenient if you have to visit Heide Park or Designer Outlet. The rooms are good size. Good parking facilities. Close to a super market and various restaurants.
Excellent location not far off the highway, with an EXCELLENT restaurant attached to it. The room was okay clean and the wifi was very good. Very classic German hotel, just as pictured with an beautiful fan.
