All the staff were lovely. Self service bar with reasonable prices and basic but good rooms. Excellent meals (including wild boar and deer) in the restaurant though somewhat limited selection. Sauna has fantastic views. We plan to return for another stay.

Location was perfect to discover the south of the Black Forest and there are beautiful hikes immediately starting from the hotel. Family room was very spacious, comfortable, with the sound of the nearby water stream. Breakfast good and varied. Restaurant for evening dinner also good.

what a great place. this is our second visit and we will be back. the staff are warm and welcoming, the food is excellent and the room are truly great. the location is peaceful. cant recommend it enough

Family run hotel with charming staff whose English was much better than my German. As a solo traveller I felt welcomed.
1,000 metes above sea level with magnificent views of the Black Forest (southern end) and footpaths lead out from the hotel.
Dinner was top quality and the style of cooking was creative and healthy. Coffee at breakfast was the best I've ever had.
Nice dining table and bed linen.
Pleasant village at the edge of the Black Forest. Great cycle path along the valley and good options for walking in the hills and villages up above. We ate in the Vier Lowen restaurant, which was excellent.

I don't recommend this hotel to any other travellers, reasons shown as below:
1. I booked hotel on 21:30, I don't know the hotel checkin finished on 22:00, it is better that the hotel could telephone me for notice, to show theire service spirit, even though the hotel is not necessary to do that,
2, when I came to the hotel, it is already closed, I try to telephoned 2 tele-number on the post on the main door, unfortunately,no one answered, I had to drive to another city to book another hotel.
3. I think it is dangerous to stay in this hotel, imaging a fire in night, the main door is closed tightly, no staff in reception desk, no one answered the telephone, what will happened!?
