The breakfast was very tasty and the breakfast room very comfortable. There were excellent public transport links to Hamburg from the hotel which were covered by a weekly pass bought at local pinneberg railway station for29 Euro.For instance leaving elbesymphonie concert hall at 11.00 pm I was back in hotel at 12.10 using u Bahn schnell Bahn to pinneberg and Bus from station to hotel.

Given we had some problems, the staff were very friendly and helpful, so I feel bad criticising their place of work - but I hope this may get the owners to have the hotel match the quality of its staff. The breakfast is good; the hotel bar is not ridiculously priced and does some warm food. This is very convenient for DESY and the nearby Science Park. The connections to the centre and Altona by bus are good and the area is quite green, though also quite suburban.

The hotel is situated in a peaceful, pleasant part of Hamburg where you can really relax. A bank is right across the road, Lidl is a couple of doors down and there are very good restaurants nearby. It’s a German hotel run by Germans so you get a genuine German experience. It’s a few minutes’ walk to the train station so all parts of Hamburg are easily accessible since the public transport system is incredible (and very cheap). This is one of the few hotels who include breakfast as standard and it was very enjoyable. Great value in such a lovely area.
