Great suburb of Dusseldorf with affordable hotels and a very good and and cheap connection to Dusseldorf city center. Just take the U72 from Ratingen Mitte to Düsseldorf Hellriegelstraße. Get out at the Düsseldorf Heinrich-Heine-Allee to be in the middle of the Altstadt & Konigsallee.
Single trip for an adult is 2,80.

It is such a lovely town and it is close to the different cities in the area, Dusseldorf, Essen, etc. It is very peaceful and full of history I totally recommend it for a short trip on the weenkend or for a calm week to walk in the forest, visit the castle and enjoy great italian gelato and greek food!

Ratingen is a beautiful town and the reason a tourist would stay there is to access Düsseldorf. So, hotel prices in Düsseldorf vis a vis self-catering accommodation in Ratingen are quite competitive considering the travel experiences one would incur as well as the proximity factor. However, in my opinion, if you stay in this particular accommodation you have to have access to a vehicle, as Ratingen Ost station is at least 15 minutes walk away. But the owner could easily overcome the competition by providing ebikes as an option for a low fee, as ebikes can be used to commute to and from the station and also can be used to tour the city.

but no Aircondation in the rooms ? and 4 stars is not real for them with this room and not that's much staff cleaning as what we looking for ? and we have to bay for our car parking this is not great because the hotel parking for all gust why we have to buy the parking ?????
For 90% everything is good, the room is good, clean, very big, we could make tea in the room. There is a spa and wellness which is very good. First it was seeking for the sauna and wellness but the staff informed us that it is not in the building but that is okey and they made a permission for us. You need to ask for it, but it is for free access for hotel guests.
not much to like. quick overnight stop as I had a layover in Dusseldorf. not very helpful nor friendly staff. taxi to the hotel expensive and bordering on rude. in the morning got told there is no shuttle to the airport and got called a taxi. only to see the airport shuttle arriving at the hotel as I left in my expensive taxi! will not stay here again!
It’s a family owned hotel and the owners are very polite and humble. It’s very nice hotel with all comfort in place. Also the rooms are spacious and clean.
The property is near to the airport and Düsseldorf. Also you can find nearby good family owned restaurants which serves very good food.
The location and being in the nature, while being close to the city, the congress center, airport was very practical and nice. Truly authentic feeling of living in the country house in the woods. Staff was exceptional, very nice and accomodating. Breakfasts were a feast.
The lady at the reception and the man at breakfast were helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was sufficient. Although far from Dusseldorf it was a 30 min travel with the underground from the center to Ratingen and a 2 min walk from the last stop to the hotel.
Very cute, wish I had more time to enjoy the facilities. Hotel staff were exceptionally helpful. Single EV charger across the street was free to use for guests with an access card.
