We were here to visit a friend.
We were here to visit a friend. When he was working we were rather "stuck", for there was construction being done on the train line and leaving the town to go to the Rhine was not a reasonable option. We did a lot of walking the Oberhausen neighborhoods. The city is a place for people to live, not necessarily a touristic destination. We did eat at some delicious restaurants, including Salvatore for Italian and the Hotel Gdanska for Polish. There was an interesting exhibition of Michael Ende and his art of storytelling at the Palace.

Oberhausen is part of a metropolitan area with lots of theme parks and other stuff to do concentrated in the area. Our accommodation was approximately 15 minutes, in any direction from these theme parks and the Sea Life aquarium. A visit to Oberhausen is definitely going to happen again in the near future.

I went to the centro allee/westfield area.
I went to the centro allee/westfield area. I can not tell you about the actual city/old part. I highly recommend the gasometer museum and the topgolf. Other than that there is also sea life and lego land in the area. The shopping center is really big, everything is there. There were some bad restaurants but also some really good! Highly recommend L’osteria.
We used the lime bikes/steps as transportation, which added extra fun to our trip. I think this area is perfect for shopaholics, family with children or young people my age (15-35)

You need to pay a visit to the Schloss, its art gallery, and its garden.
Also not to be missed are the Gasometer, some shopping at Centro, and a walk in Volkspark.
Specially do not miss the sunset by the Rhine on a summer day.

loads to see and do around Oberhausen, this hotel is right next to the arena/stadium/music venue also the Centro Oberhausen, tram stop just over the road so no drivibg neede, overall a good hotel
I came to Oberhausen for celebrate my birthday, but in the same day I got a very sad news about my sister passing away.
When I came to the hotel, I got called from my family and that's very bad news : my sister passed away in Indonesia. The whole day since I came I never stop crying. And in the very early morning, I have a video call from my family to see the funeral of my sister. The room from this hotel is the best because it's sound proof, because I don't get complaints from the next room.
The hotel is good for a short stay. The room was quite large and the bed was comfortable. The room was quite close to a noisy road but when the windows were closed, it was quiet enough to sleep. There's a beautiful park, Kaisergarten, across the road (there were even some animals to see!) and CentrO (a large shopping mall) is not too far away. Parking was great because there were loads of parking spots!
The hotel is hardly 10 mins by foot from the Central Station and less than 30 mins by bus from the Gasometer and the rest of the tourist attractions. There is a shop right outside. The room was bigger than we imagined for three ppl, spacious and comfy, it had everything we needed, even a bottle of water. Breakfast was only 4.5€ but it was the perfect buffet and everything tasted good. Great place!
The hotel is nice and clean with a good location. The staff are nice, however, we did not receive the rooms we have paid for. And that's the first time this has happened to me. Ever!
It is not only that you did not give us the 2x Standard Double Room and 1x Standard Double Room - 2 Adjoining Rooms and instead put us in 3x Standard Double Room but now you are accusing me of lying!!!!
Buffet breakfast was excellent, lots of variety and plenty to eat. Especially appreciated the hotel providing baked gluten free breads and buns. Location is very close to Centro and allowed us to visit local family. Room was large with very good air conditioning and a balcony. Windows were aBle to close with dark blinds.
A good sized room friendly gentleman on reception parking was a bit difficult as I was in a lwb van but the gentleman on reception that it would be ok to park on the pavement outside the hotel till 8am the next morning good connection to the auto bahn staff friendly room was clean
Convenient place for people who are looking for a very short stay and do not plan to stay at the hotel for most of the day.
Thin walls so not much noise cancellation but for one night it was ok.
Smooth check-in and checkout process.
Well located close to the train station
NH hotels never disappoint! All perfect, fantastic quality-price, clean and spacious room, well-furnished, quiet location close to the train station. Nice staff, if you skip room cleaning you get a free drink at the bar.
Nice hotel rooms, close to the Oberhausen mall and concert arena. The room was quiet, bike parking is available in front of the hotel. The hotel offered an extra coffee machine with no cost.
Hotel location is close to the Centro Mall, quick access via Autobahn/main roads.
Hotel has all necessary facilities, Wlan, clean rooms, parking, supermarket close by, good breakfast.
Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good value for money. Location is easily accessible by car and there was more than enough parking spots. Hotel furniture was old but clean.
It is super clean and tidy, and the owner is very nice and helpful. Next stay in Oberhausen will be there again. Centrally situated with easy access to city shops and restaurants.
We got a message from the host with the instructions how to use the lock box and the code. It was pretty simple to get it and more flexible than a hotel without a help desk.
Lovely hotel. Very nice and friendly staff. Large room. Very clean. Dog friendly(even special door hangers!) Quiet room. Late check-in possible. We will be back again!
Hotel was great for visit the Christmas market and shopping mall. Staff were very friendly, rooms quiet and clean and the breakfast was also very good.
