Renowned for its stunning architecture and the world’s largest fair, Oktoberfest, Munich needs little introduction. Its vibrant cultural scene, great shopping and fantastic museums speak for themselves.
Munich has something for everyone: from historic palaces and castles, to stunning royal avenues to world class galleries and museums. Don't miss the new city hall in the heart of Marienplatz or the former residence of the Bavarian kings, the Residenz. Munich is also home to the world’s most famous beer hall, the Hofbräuhaus.
For great shopping, Karlsplatz is another commercial wonderland square that takes up much of the city centre and the upscale area around Maximilianstrasse. Munich is famous for its food too, so make sure you try the local Weißwurst, Leberkässemmeln and other popular pork dishes.

Great city with great architecture, nice restaurants, and of course lots of activities.
I personally love visiting the Viktualienmarkt, then having a coffee and a Rohrnudel at Cafe Frischhut, which is conveniently located right next to it. You can spend a lot of time people watching, and to see real Múnchner is fun.
Loved climbing up the tower of St Peter’s
Church and we were lucky to have great weather so we could see the Alps.
A visit to Dalmayers, Manufactum and the famous Elli Seidl chocolaterie was a must. Best chocolate in town - for me at least
A walk along the river Isar is also nice - you can sit right at the river and take a breather from traffic and people, quite chilled there

Munich has enough interesting places, museums, and restaurants to keep you busy for a week. You could probably hit the highlights in 2 full days, depending on your interests. Beware the weather in April! It rained and snowed the entire week I was there. However, the week before and the week after were sunny and warm!

Clean city easy to get around on foot. Lots to see and explore. I took a walking tour then went out on my own for longer stops and looks. Appreciated the free public music street performances - added a good vibe to my visit.

Definitely do the Cathedral and University Quarters for the musuems and culture and the English Gardens. You must do a traditional Beer hall after all it is Munich! The hoffbrau house is the most famous but Augustine has the best beer and better service its where the locals go.

Munich was very expensive and a bit underwhelming.
Munich was very expensive and a bit underwhelming. The architecture within the city centre was a joy to behold and capture, however, although the restaurants we visited were first class in terms of provisions, amenities, and customer service, it is not a place for someone to visit on a very low income.
There are places to eat out at outwith the city centre which ate less expensive but these are hard to discover.
Saturday nights in the centre of Munich is out of bounds if visiting a restaurant or bar unless you make a reservation beforehand. We couldn't get into any licensed establishment on Saturday evening in the city centre although there are plenty of eateries.
Retail therapy on a Sunday is a no-go as well as 99% of retailers are closed on this day.
The planned guided tours of Munich are mainly German spoken and are very stop start in nature, so you'll hardly get to see and savour the place you primarily wish to visit like Dachau Castle.
Excellent location, close to the main station and to public transport, but also in walking distance from the city centre.
It was the second time that we staid at this hotel and it has improved. The forniture in the room was new, the coloured walls make it nicer.
Breakfast is good, for the price (Munich can be very expensive on this aspect). The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean.
An affordable, nice place to stay in one of the most expensive cities in Germany.
The hotel is located close to a S-Bahn train station i.e. Donnesbergebrucke. From the station you can easily reach the main train station of the city (Munich HBF which is also U-Bahn station) and further on you only have 2 S-Bahn stations to Marienplatz (in the city center). From Donnesbergebrucke you have also a direct S-Bahn to the Munich airport (aprox 30 min). Hotel room and bathroom both very spacious. Good breakfast.
So pleased we chose this hotel. We have stayed in Munich many times. And this is by far the best hotel. The location is perfect. You are 5 minutes walk from Marienplatz and 30 minutes from the English garden. Lovely staff and delicious breakfast. The bar is very chilled. Excellent drink choice. Very reasonable prices. Suggest you upgrade to king room. Not too much more and worth it for the extra space.
A nice hotel with friendly staff, located in a beautiful neighborhood of Munich.
The hotel location is close to a subway station (U-Bahn) and also close to an S-Bahn station. You can move easily to the city center without spending much time on commuting.
Our room was nice and comfortable. We didn't have any problems with noise although there was a construction building on the other side of the street.
The hotel is located right next to the train station which is helpful if you, like me, arrive in Munich late, just need a place to stay for a night or two and leave by train fairly early again. However, the city center is within walking distance, too, just the neighborhood isn't that great, also at the moment due to the big construction going on. The room rates were quite low due to that.
The location of the hotel was ideal. We booked this hotel as we wished to visit the Christmas Market which was only a short walk away. It was also convenient to visit other places with the city centre.
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was cleaned daily.
There was a good choice of food for breakfast.
I can highly recommend this hotel for a city break in Munich.
This is a wonderful hotel with a family vibe, but with all the ammenities of a big hotel.
The breakfast had a wonderful selections. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff helps, if you have any requests or ask for advice.
The location is in a nice district of Munich with good bars and restaurants around. The city centre is 15min away by public transport.
We really loved the funky, gentrified area of this hotel! We were sceptical at first about staying so close to a train station but the area is super family family-friendly, quiet and has really easy access to the central train station and city centre of Munich. The hotel was close to the train station and had a really nice big window and window seat which we loved.
Super location on the edge of the Altstadt and steps from the S-bahn line to the airport. Building was clean, comfortable, and appeared up to date despite being the oldest hotel in Munich. We were able to walk to several kid-friendly attractions in the Old City and across the river and had no shortage of nearby options for meals and snacks.
Too be Honest I was Concerned at how far from Munich City Centre it was, however the hotel has excellent taxi bus, and S bahn Services a Bayern card is 26 euros for all day travel on the S bahn. Hotel was nice and staff were friendly and helpful the Check in on line is very good. Rooms were Nice and Food was good as well. Would Reccemend.
The staff members are very friendly and helpful. The location is good - within walking distance to the city centre and public transport - including a connection with the Munich airport. Lovely but tiny outdoor area - the opportunity to have breakfast in the garden. The internet was also very fast.
The location of this hotel is good, not very far from the city centre (around 15-20 minutes' metro) and there is a direct train to the city centre which is very convenient. The facilities are very good and the staffs are very nice. In Munich, the price of this hotel is worth of value.
The selection of hot and cold food at breakfast was great.
The staff were very friendly and always happy to help.
Although there isn't lots around the hotel, it isn't far from Munich City Centre and it was only a 10min walk from my work conference, which was ideal for me.
Excellent, quiet and air-conditioned rooms which, given the hotel’s proximity to the city center and train station, were perfect for taking breaks to rest and cool off after exploring Munich during an August heatwave. Really nice pool and very good breakfast.
The room that was provided was excellent and customer service was superb! Location wise, it’s the best place to stay and highly recommended as it is beside the main train station. I will definitely choose Ruby Rosi Hotel Munich when I’m back here in Germany
The location was close to the train station (1 block). Close to the express train that goes to the Munich airport. Also walking distance to the Old Town center. Lots of places to eat close to the hotel.
The hotel has a great ambience. Very unique and cozy. It is located very close to Munich Central Station (a walking distance only) and also very close to the city centre.
