This hotel was a pleasant surprise - a budget-friendly gem only a little away from the 'old town'. The hotel itself is modest but exceptionally clean, cosy, and welcoming. The courtyard is a wonderful spot for morning coffee or evening cocktails.
The staff were incredibly warm and accommodating. Their extra effort made our holiday great, and it was my best 'customer service' experience in Germany.
The rooms are basic but very comfortable, with pleasant interior decoration touches and amazing morning light from the balcony. The beds were comfy, and the sheets clean and soft.
The pool is fantastic, well-laid out, and the night swimming with the penguins was a summer highlight. Having bathing gowns provided and a tunnel over the road for quick pool access was a huge plus.
Overall, this hotel exceeded expectations and provided a memorable, family-friendly stay.

The staff were extremely helpful and even went out of their way to celebrate my partner's birthday at breakfast. The location of the hotel was fantastic and the room was spacious and clean. I would visit again.

Not for anyone seeking a bit of excitement. We rented kayaks and that was a lot of fun, prices are high for most everything and many of the locals seemed to be super stressed out by the tourists. They have an odd sense of humor there that not everyone will appreciate. The nearby Tropical Island Resort was great, specially if you have kids. The massivness of the building alone was very impressive the facilities were well thought out and well cared for.

Both my friend and I had a magical experience at the Schloss. The location was breath taking. The top floor room had a beautiful view of the gardens. The breakfast had great variety and the dinner at the hotel was a very romantic, fine dining experience for us. In all cases the staff was super friendly, and accommodating. 10/10 would come here again.

The most authentic and tranquil place that I have been to in Germany. Friendly people, gorgeous canals and cycling or walking from village to village on pristine paths. Relaxation, great food and a festive (but not excessive) vibe. Definitely will be back!

The city is boring.
The city is boring.
And if you also come for the weekend, then the only available entertainment is
kayaking and canoeing will be heavily loaded.
Sometimes there were no kayaks/canoes available due to the influx of people.
Hiking and cycling trails do not deserve

Lübbenau is one of the best places to stay in the Spreewald!
Lübbenau is one of the best places to stay in the Spreewald! It's a small, quiet village, yet it has many restaurants and cafes, a train station, and offers many possibilities for outdoor activities (I recommend renting a kayak to visit the Spreewald canals!). The village itself is really cute and the breathtaking Spreewald scenery is right nearby.
If you book a hotel or pension there, you get a discount card which allows you to use the local bus and train for free, and gives you discounts for many tourist activities!
I recommend visiting Lübbenau in the spring or in the fall, when nature is the most beautiful and there aren't too many tourists around. It can get really crowded in the summer.

Lübbenau is a cute little town, it's fun to walk around there, but what is even better is to take a boat, kayak, or bike further into the Spreewald and explore there. We went from Lübbenau to Lehde and it was really fun to explore the canals. Everything is really beautiful. The whole area is calm and quiet but also offers a lot of fun things to do. Will definitely come back!

A beautiful hotel located in a picturesque Spreewald village Lehde. Staff very helpful with booking taxis and hiring bikes. We stayed in a room located in a very beautiful traditional Spreewald house (the hotel consists of several houses). Very nice breakfast! We visited in the bleakness of November and it was very quiet, which we enjoyed but would be great to also visit in summer when the place is surely more bustling.
The breakfast was exceptional with ham, cheese, scrambled eggs, cereal, and as a seasonal treat the hard boiled eggs were painted in the local style. The supper was hearty with local dishes. The hotel is on a quiet side street but very near the tourist attractions. The room was modern and very clean.
We liked the interior design of the rooms and cozy atmosphere. The Spree-Chalet is very close to the main street and harbor of Lübbenau. The host was very nice and gave us execellent advice about nearby attractions and events.
Very comfortable hotel with a park in a good location
- Very good breakfast
- Possibility to regulate the temperature in the room and bathroom
- Excellent staff. All issues were quickly resolved.
Family friendly down to the smallest details! The service was wonderful and the facilities sparkling clean. Best hotel breakfast we have had in a while. The kids loved it and we loved it! 5 stars.
