We chose this accomodation because it is close to Strasbourg (30 minutes by car). The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Clean bathroom. The staff was very kind, communication with them was really easy. Free parking near the hotel. The breakfast was very good and varied at only 6 Euro/person/day.
Kappelrodeck is beautiful and not too touristy. I could imagine living here to be honest! Nice selection of restaurants and a beautiful little konditorie. The people were super nice and friendly, no matter where we went and it is a fabulous home base to then go out and explore the area on hikes through the forests and vineyards. A must visit is the Zuckerbergschloss cafe/restaurant, which became one of our fave places to go. The Wine from the Hex Von Dasenstein winery is also excellent and well worth a visit to taste what they have on offer.
The apartment was very spacious and had an absolutely stunning view over to the west, over the vineyards and the village. The terrace (south) and balcony (west) were fantastic and the kitchen had everything we needed. We brought our racing bikes with us, and the hostess offered us to stall them in their personal garage.
And about the location: we came for biking and hiking and we were not disappointed. Kappelrodeck is surrounded by vineyards, orchards and of course the Schwarzwald. We will definitely visit again.
We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Faxe and enjoyed it. The hotel terrace and garden are more appealing than the photo's show. Nice view on the surrounding wineyards. The family room with balcony was ideal for our family of four. Very comfortable beds. The (optional) breakfast was complete and varied for the price asked. If you come late to breakfast, choice maybe (much) less. We guess you can always ask to the friendly and helpful owning family.
The restaurant served a limited menu but perfect (and good) for short stay.
We loved everything: the host, the apartment, the village and the gorgeous views.
I have stayed in many apartments and hotels and I always choose them very carefully, because I have very high standards. This apartment was a first class apartment, in which the hosts have payed attention to every single detail. I felt like moving into a beautiful new apartment, designed to be a cosy, idyllic, comfortable, esthetic home.
This is not a traditional hotel. Aside the decoration, there is no bar, no restaurant, only few hours reception staff. This is like a hostel, and taking this into account is perfect. You can use the saloon for you own food with cold drinks available. Big common spaces to be use. Our 4 people room was quite small. Breakfast correct without sweet things, while cheese or hot options (scramble eggs, nación…).
Around New Year we like to have a little trip around the Black Forest and Alsace. This was our second time staying at Rebstock Waldulm and both times it has been our favourite hotel of the trip.
The building is straight out of a fairytale, the rooms are comfy, the staff are lovely and the breakfast is fantastic.
Can't wait to go back!
Nice hotel in the heart of the Black forest, cozy and quiet rural area. The room had a balcony overseeing the vineyards. Comfortable bed, ample rooms, nice garden area. Parking spaces available
There is a really good bakery about 4 minutes away by foot, where a very good breakfast is served in case the hotel restaurant is closed.
wonderfully comfortable hotel with a slightly more old feel to it which is no bad thing. Excellent food from the bib gourmand awarded restaurant. great breakfast and friendly service with parking immediately outside the property. We’ve been before.
The hotel has a beautiful garden area located at the rear, as well as a nice terrace overlooking the vineyards. The view is idyllic and we enjoyed drinking wine there and having breakfast outside when the weather allowed.
Three years in a row we stay in this hotel. It’s nice that they become even better. Very clean, great wiew, frieldly stuff, nice small city. The wine shop down the street is exelent. Best riesling ever!!!
Highly recommended. The location is awesome, the hotel itself is magnificent and cozy, feels like you are in the gladiators era. The staff are very nice and generous. We enjoyed our stay a lot.
The decoration was fantastic, the atmosphere at the hotel was superb. The staff was very nice and the breakfast was absolutely exceptional. We had everything we needed for a fantastic stay.
