The rooms are nice and cozy, with that old charm. Everything was clean, comfortable, and had a homey feel that made it even more relaxing. There are no toilets/showers in the rooms, but the shared facilities are close, warm, and private when you are in them. There's no risk of someone walking in while you shower for example.
Food was also excellent, I would even advise that the portions are very generous! The salad was amazing, and over delivered on quantity and taste. Really was the icing on the cake so to say.

The location can not be better. The apartment had an excellent view of the lake and the mountains, a huge balcony, 2 rooms with plenty of space, full kitchen with everything you need. The spa section was extremely nice and clean. The resting room view is as beautiful as it can be. I recommend it to everyone.
There are also great restaurants and cafes around within few minutes walk distance. You can walk around the lake or just hike to the castle ruins at the hill behind the hotel. With 15-20 mins walk, you will have the best panorama view of the region.

Really beautiful little town.
Really beautiful little town. Lots of interesting shops, great restaurants and very tempting pastries. The town is overlooked by the Alps affording spectacular views but there are also riverside walks and quaint streets to explore plus a Franciscan monastery and a castle. Plus Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles are a short bus ride or taxi ride away.

Wonderful, peaceful little town, perfect for those who love hiking and nature. There is an awesome reptile zoo nearby too, worth seeing. The people smile and say "hello" to strangers on the street and everyone decorates their houses almost as if it's some contest to make their property cutest. In spring the whole area is drowning in flowers blooming and sounds of birdsong.

It's beautiful, at the foot of the mountains. The downtown area is quaint and offers a wide array of shopping options that range from inexpensive to custom/higher end items. Many eateries and bakeries to choose from, with cuisine from all over the world. The town is not large, but has every feature we wanted. The local parks are amazing if you're traveling with kids! They had scooter paths, basketball, bike tracks, everything! The hiking trailheads can be found within walking distance from town and are lovely. It's only a 4 minute drive to Neuschwanstein Castle and makes getting there easy.

Make sure you receive a "Fussen Card" with your accommodation. Allow a full day to do the castles and make sure you are there for the morning (8 am )tickets so you can beat the bus loads of other tourists. Food from restaurants is expensive and parking for the day is 10 euro. Catch the bus for 3 euro and save your legs.

Fussen was amazing. Super cute and lovely. Train station makes for easy travelling. People were very friendly and we loved how close it was to Neuschwanstein and quirky things such as a tree top walk to cross the border to Austria.
Hotel Sonne is close to the railway station which was perfect. We were initially put in a room that someone had obviously smoked in but they were happy to transfer us to an alternative room immediately.The Hotel provided a Fussen card which provided discounted or free entry to some of the museum's and on the buses, especially the ones going to the castles which was very handy. The restaurant Riwa is ideal for lunch/dinner but you are advised to book, as it gets very busy. Perfectly placed for walking around the pretty town.
We arrived at the late night, the counter was closed. Instead, the staff sent detailed video instructions for parking and self-check-in. Everything is good and smooth, a pleasant experience. The location of the hotel is great, the castle is really close within 20 mins drive and also easy to park. The friendly counter staff also provided us with the Füssen pass, for the free bus and souvenir discount. If we are going to visit Füssen again, this hotel is definitely our first choice.
The rooms were huge and beautiful and just amazing all around. Just to think we were sleeping in such a well kept 700year old well kept piece of history was lovely for our family. The owners were very nice and polite. The kitchen was well equipped and the fireplace was just beautiful. The parking lot is just across the hotel and the hotel itself is at a prime location for doing whatever you might want to do in Füssen. We just loved our stay!

A very nice thing, and I loved it even though they don't offer food, they have everything available to eat there, very nice and tidy. there is a fridge for guests and the dining facilities are very spacious and nice and there is also a beautiful garden.
Great location, you can walk from the train maybe 5 min. The hotel it's nice a bit old but clean and spacious. It comes with nice amenities, sauna, steam room, hotel bar and restaurant. You can easily walk to Füssen high castle or walk back to train station and pick up shuttle to neuschwanstein and hohenschwangau from there. Location and value were really good.

we arrived late in the night, after checkin hours, but still we were able to checkin and get our room. The guy ate the reception as really tired, but he did everything to help us.
The hotel is centrally located, making it very convenient for a stay in Füssen. They have upgraded the facility to have modern conveniences but have kept it charming and classy with unique furnishings and antiques throughout.
The staff was courteous and accommodating, even extending our stay in the same room for us when we decided to stay an extra night.
Out of town, over looking a lake. Only two eateries outside the hotel that we had to explore as the Hotel’s restaurant was closed for two days. One a little efficious the other only keen only to take cash, although they did take the card in the end. 5km from Fussen which we didn’t explore. Good breakfast. A nice stay in a rural setting.

The breakfast was amazing! I happened to be staying here on my birthday and the hotel noted that on my reservation. I woke up the day of my birthday to a special piece of cake and a candle!! They went above and beyond. I loved this place. I will go back to Fussen just to experience this hotel again.
The room was what we needed. Location was pretty concinient. We looked for this hotel just to see the castles but realized there that the town was very pretty and worth to spend some time around.

Location. Friendliness and helpfulness of the host, Peter. We arrived at the wrong timing as the weather was bad, and our original plan to visit Zugpitze was closed, but fortunately Peter suggested Highline179 so that we had something to do when we were in Fussen.
Amazing location, beautiful sauna lounge. We had a little problem with our shower, but it was solved quickly and efficiently and we even received a complimentary breakfast as a compensation. We'll definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Fussen.
