The staff was nice and the bed comfortable. Room was clean and comfortable, and I had a nice view out the back/courtyard of the hotel looking into the hills. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. I also like having a water cooker for my tea, and the windows were nice and big so you could open them and get a breeze. The room was of a larger size than some in Europe.

If you were into history and culture, Eisenach can be very interesting. It is the birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach and an important town in the history of Martin Luther (there are museums for both). The town castle played an important role in the Protestant Reformation and has been fully restored. Definitely a wonderful place to visit. For sightseeing and a city tour, the city is a lovely typical German small town which is definitely worth a visit, but a visit longer than a day or two might get a bit monotonous.

Easy to walk around town.
Easy to walk around town. Important attractions easy to find and absorb in a day, or two if you want to see Wartburg as well, which is great. The Bach house was a bit of a let-down as there's next to nothing pertaining to the genius but the lot of info nearly makes up to it. The city museum is impressive in the palace on the main square.

With a one night stay we were able to visit the Wartburg Castle, the Bach museum, and the church connected with Bach. We found a very nice Vietnamese restaurant where we had a good meal at a very reasonable price. The Kaufland supermarket and Woolworths were both very useful shops.

It's a perfect place to visit if you like history.
It's a perfect place to visit if you like history. I spent nearly a whole day up at the Wartburg castle, which was simple amazing. From learning about the art, music and literary history of the place, to the deeply important religious history (as a Lutheran, seeing the room where Martin Luther worked on his Bible translation was breathtaking), there's just so much in the one place. Tack on a trip to the Lutherhaus, and I was simply over the moon. I know there were more things I definitely wanted to do but didn't have time for, including a few museum options and the Bachhaus. It's a lovely city, very walkable and quaint, and the public transit, from what little I used, was very effective and clean. It does get very quiet in the evenings, so if you're looking for nightlife, this probably isn't the place, but since I like quieter nights, this was a perk for me! Also the natural landscape all around the city is gorgeous, with thick forests and sweeping mountains on all sides. Great for pictures (when it's not raining)!

Really lovely city.
Really lovely city. Gorgeous old town centre and birthplace of JS Bach so we visited the museum and went to see the Wartburg, where Martin Luther had to hide out for 10 months. Easy city to walk around. Lots of good restaurants but most will stop serving at 9pm. We had a wonderful meal after hours (about 10pm!) in Valentinos, which was also very central.
This was my second time at the Thueringer Hof and I wholeheartedly recommend the hotel. Everything is perfect, from the friendly and attentive staff to the rooms, perfect location (5min by foot from the train station and close to all attractions and the walking street with many shops) and tasty breakfast (huge choice). The hotel's Leander restaurant deserves kudos as well - it features a great menu (...and tapas to accompany an after work drink) and prices match those of the restaurants in the area.
The hotel restaurant is a gem! The medieval feel and experience is absolutely unique. The concept for the menu and the total ambiance is amazing : tavern furniture, candles in the whole restaurant, clay pitchers, and music from Martin Luther’s time (15th century).
The toilets also had a medieval touch... very entertaining.
The breakfast was plentiful and very good. You could even request for an omelette, fried egg, and also waffles.
good basic room. breakfast was typical for German breakfasts and was plentiful. Location about a 15 minute walk from the main train station through the old town. I enjoyed walking through the old town and finding all of them major sites as well as just seeing the old buildings. And of course the trip to Wartburg was fabulous. I easily caught a bus very close to the hotel that took me up the hill.
The view is spectacular. It's within walking distance of the Bach house, Luther house and the main square. If you are up to it you can hike up to the castle. The house is visible from the castle and vice versa. Way better than a hotel, probably best to spend a few nights or more as getting settled in is a little more work than a hotel. No elevator but that is expected.
The room was huge. I didn't expect a room quite this big when I came in, especially for the price I paid for it. It had all the necessities, clean bathroom, tea and coffe in the room... Bed was comfier than what I've experienced in more expensive hotels and good enough for a hotel.
We enjoyed this spacious, light and modern apartment with close proximity to the Bachhaus, which we could see from the bedroom window. The secure courtyard parking was excellent and it was only a short walk to the Christmas market and shopping area. Eisenach is a gorgeous place!
The location is perfect for a stop-over during a longer trip or to visit Eisenach, as it is a few kilometres off the highway and from the city centre. Very quiet place surrounded by green hills and hiking trails.
Large rooms and a very good breakfast.
We found when we arrived that Hotel Villa Anna had overbooked and we had no room. They had advised us by message the night before our arrival. Fortunately Hotel Volla Anna had made an alternate booking about 7km away.
The hotel was quiet and rooms were basic, but clean. There was free parking provided. It sits next to an Augustiner Brauhaus, which was convenient and it was an easy walk into the center of town. Good value.
Good hotel in a quiet area but a short walk to the railway station and the city centre .room was good and breakfast normal German fare .restaurant next to the hotel is recommended.
We didn't like anything. We were led to believe it was a much nicer property than it was. I was trying to avoid hotel chains on my trip but wish I had stayed anywhere else.
