The location is absolutely fabulous and unique. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast in the morning plenty. We were very impressed and it made our short stay unforgettable.

Andrea & her husband were welcoming hosts & excellent communicators, especially as we arrived rather later than expected (delays on train). Loved the apartment: beautifully presented with everything we needed for a short stay. Added value were the bicycles as this neat we could get around Bauhaus venues easily with enough time to enjoy a brief ride on the Elbe cycle path.

BAUHAUS is the must-see highlight, of course! Just great.
BAUHAUS is the must-see highlight, of course! Just great.
But there are also many other historic buildings that make a up a ensemble worth visiting. Very clear signposts to guide to all important venues.
And to be honest: I was surprised by meeting 100% friendly and welcoming people in Dessau.
In short: Go there!

I visted especifically for Gropius, Klee, Meyer and the rest of the BAUHAUS experience - and Dessau is it. No competition. Dessau is worth staying longer in and using as a base to explore the sites in the surroundings. Good transport hub :)))))

Visited specifically to see the various Bauhaus related sites - museum, school and masters houses - but otherwise there does not seem to be much else to draw you into the city. On a tip from a friend I drove out to the 18th century gardens at Worlitz, which on a nice day make for a fantastic walk of 1-2 hours.

Apart from the Bauhaus architecture, it is a typical Soviet designed town and therefore a museum piece in itself - very quiet, sleepy place The theatre has an excellent standard of music theatre, opera, ballet etc.
Everything is spectacular, the staff is friendly, the facilities are very nice, it has a fabulous location.
quite close to all the bauhaus buildings
We were especially looked after by a wonderful and lovely person, I'm sorry I didn't learn her name, but she really was as kind as possible to us and I remember her a lot because she totally reminded me of Andy Warhol with a wonderful style.
Historic and characterful Forst Haus on the edge of a forest about 20 minutes drive outside Dessau. Easy and friendly check-in. Compact but comfortable room. Traditional breakfast. Free on-site parking. Adjacent beer garden open until 18.00 so quiet in the evening but need to go into Dessau if you want to eat after this time.
The hotel Schlafgut is clean and modern. The rooms are quite and comfortable. A writing desk was put inro my room upon request. There was none before. The hotel has no reception and meals are not available. It is a sleeping place outside the centre of Desssau.
Completely new. Nice design. Fresh. Comfortable. Very clean. Everything just works. Self check-in, no time pressure for when to arrive to the hotel and no check out procedures… brilliant.
very good breakfast, good wifi (not everywhere, I asked to change my room because in the first one was not working) and super quiet. just in front of some bauhaus masterpieces. excellent!
Comfortable and cozy apartment, just next to supermarkets and large park. Easy walking distance to most of the tourist highlights in Dessau. Happy to stay there again next time.
Very spacious room for this price. Luxury with a good bed. Location is a 20 min walk from the city center. Good breakfast. The check in with a code and a keybox worked fine.
The hotel is very comfortable, clean, and well located. Check-out on Sundays is later than in most hotels, the extra hours of sleep are very appreciated.
