Rest of the Center felt a bit difficult to navigate and empty later in the day though admittedly on working days so it might be better in the weekend.
Highlander Games has great Board Game Stock but mostly for the German speaking audience.
The Matrix is a must go place for a concert.
Paddy's Irish Pub may be small but has nice ambience and a great price on the Guinness.

I was in Bochum to visit friends, but was pleasantly surprised with all the city had to offer! The Stadtpark is lovely, with lots of hiking trails and some paddle boats, and the view from the Bismarck tower was very good (and free!). I was surprised how much I enjoyed the Mining Museum underground tour - very informative and fun! There is so much green in the city, and many shopping opportunities and excellent transport. It's also easy to travel to other locations. We visited the half-timber houses of Hattingen and also Dusseldorf (only about 30 min trip by train). Our favourite restaurants were the tapas bar Uno Mas, and the innovative restaurant The Living Room.

If you need to eat, visit the Bermuda dreieck where you have two blocks of restaurants. Choosing might be a challenge.

Bochum was really lovely at Christmas time. The decorations in the centre we’re lovely and welcoming.
Eating out is also great and there is lots of choice - but many places got booked up at the weekend, so booking ahead is essential.
Fantastic small family hotel in a quiet suburban area.

Rooms are generously sized with very comfy beds and good room facilities.
Hotel is only a short walk (5-6 minutes) from Lennershof U-Bahn station, which is only 3 minutes from the University campus or 10 from the centre of Bochum.
Free parking available as well makes this an exceptional choice of hotel.
The hotel is in the centre of Bochum, exit the hotel and you are in the centre. Parking is underneath the hotel in a public garage for an acceptable daily rate. Beds great, but the bedlinnen for a double bed is so small that one person is left out in the cold. Hotel is brand new. Loved the hotel. Breakfast great except the juices. Friendly staff.

The hotel location is the primary reason I stay there. It's close to my son's apartment and within 30 minutes walking distance of the Starlight Express theatre. The hotel is only 15 minutes walk to the train station and the main town centre. The staff at the hotel are always very friendly and helpful.
Small but comfortable and well managed hotel near to the Starlight Express theatre. There was a great choice of hot and cold food at breakfast. Very clean hotel. Excellent place to stay if you are seeing the show as its an easy walk and no need to take transport there.
The room was as small as a bathroom it’s not a size of a room that can fit two adults it would be perfect if you’re 6 years old or younger.. the price we paid was a joke because of the location but there are many hotels around way cheaper and cleaner
