The staff at the reception gave us a very warm welcome and nice first impression. The room is quite big even for us two adults with one kid. The washroom is very clean and comfortable with underfloor heating. The location is also wonderful which is very close to the ferry. I personally strongly recommend the self hand made local introduction books in the sauna area. I should have noted the author’s name (Dr.) . He must love the place very much. If I go back there again, I wish to finish reading.

Alles was vorher bewertet war.
Alles was vorher bewertet war. The room was great, the people were very friendly and so helpful, and the sauna/pool/spa area was super. The only disappointment was that we set up a birthday dinner table (which happened) and a birthday breakfast table (which did not happen because people took our table and moved our number).

Lovely quiet town on the Elbe river.
Lovely quiet town on the Elbe river. Well connected with roads, publish transport including river ferries. Plenty to do and excellent excursions fronm the town, eg hiking, mountain biking. Good indoor pool incl. wellness / spa centre. You need to book restaurants for dinner in the high season. And by 9pm its quite quiet, so not a lot of night life!

Bad Schandau area has a lot to offer and unfortunately we only spent one night here. I would have liked to stay another2-3 nights to do some hiking and bike riding in the area. I had a very good Thai Massage very close to the hotel. Town is pretty quiet at night with not a big selection for restaurants.

Town is charming with a large green area along the stream.
Town is charming with a large green area along the stream. Access to hiking in the National Park is very good and many trails leave from the various bus stops. Several good restaurants and bakeries are available and a good grocery store. In all, it is a good place for walkers!

Small town Germany!
Small town Germany! I loved the views of the river; we took a bike ride on nice easy paths down to the Czech border and back the other side. Trains made this very accessible from Dresden. There were great hikes, too from town and in the next town closer to Dresden.

Bad Schandau itself is a great place to visit if you like hiking and being in nature. The views are spectacular and there are hikes to suit every level of fitness. There's also a big spa to soak your weary muscles (COVID restrictions allowing).
It's not amazing for dining or culture, but it does have a few decent restaurants and a couple of good supermarkets if you have cooking facilities.
Absolute 10 out of 10. Spacious clean, bright, quiet apartments close to Kurpark Bad Schandau. New repairs, code locks, everything you need are available: dishes, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, additional bedding, blankets, pillows, throws. Great location. Ctirad and Petra are fantastic owners, very friendly, instantly respond to all requests. Detailed instructions before arrival: where to park the car, how to use code locks, we even received a video tour of the apartments. Absolute recommendations!
The hotel is perfect for resting from a big city. It might not be very easy to get to the village without a car, but as soon as you figure out how buses work, it’s perfect. The village is surrounded by fields, forests and mountains, it’s very close to famous places and wonderful hiking routes. The living conditions are very comfortable too. The breakfast was amazing! I would definitely choose it for my next visit!
The hotel has its own parking lot and restaurant (for our stay it’s open until 19:30). The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They made a customized spaghetti for my child. The building (and our window) is very beautiful with green vines. There is a interesting collection of books ( world highlights, information technology, Olympic Games in 1964, children books) and board games.
Everything was very clean, great shower and bathroom. The apartment was spacious. The bed was big and quite comfy. The TV was great to use while hanging out in the evening or during bad weather, and the balcony was very nice. There was tea, coffee (with filter machine) provided. 20 mins walk down the valley into Bad Schandau, and the location was good for the best hikes.
I'm completely satisfied with the hotel. Pros:
+ friendly and helpful stuff, warm family atmosphere;
+ great location, you've got everything you might need just in walking distance;
+ quiet, clean and cozy room with comfy bed;
+ the place has a restaurant serving a variety of Czech and German cuisine, strongly recommended )
This was an hotel of high standing that had a very good deal with both breakfast and evening meal included. We found the choice at breakfast to be superb and were especially pleased to find vegan options. Every aspect of the hotel to the welcome drink and the helpful staff to the quality of the room was great.
An excellent hotel, among the more successful in town, very clean, staff who speak English (this is a rare thing in this part of Germany). Huge room, excellent shower, amazing and very large and indulgent breakfast. Located right in the main square, there are lots of restaurants and cafes around
The view was indeed amazing! The rooms are spacious, and breakfasts are also nice. It's really convenient to have dinner at the hotel restaurant as well
It is remote, which can be an up and down side at the same time. If you're looking for a more countryside feeling, this hotel is for you
Breakfast (albeit expensive) was totally excellent. I wasn't hungry until the afternoon.
Location is very good for walking among the rocks. For visiting Bad Schandau, I recommend using the elevator.
The room was nice, clean, we had all the comfort we needed. For the price it was great.
The location near the small park and near a bus station, was great for us. The "visitor pass" which alows free bus transportation is very nice.
The apt is O.K. and for 2 nights it was perfect for us, allso comparing to Bad Schandau, it was not too expensive.
Next time, I will stay longer! I had the best sleep in a while. Comfy bed and very quiet room as my visit took place in the off-season when there were just a few other guests. Hotel is a few minutes away from the ferry pier, historic elevator etc.
A beautiful hotel in an excellent location - the spa around the corner, pretty little town with nice local restaurants and friendly shopkeepers. Well worth the extra- effort to get there. Also excellent breakfast in a beautiful room.
Ostrau is a great location for hiking trips. The staff at the hotel is very friendly and very helpful. The breakfast is very good, one of the best I ever had in any hotel.
The rooms are clean, each has a kitchenette.
Great hotel near the centrum of Bad Schandau. The staff speaks germen and sometimes also czech. Great location for if you would like hiking in near national park.
