I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead.
In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful.
I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.

Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.
All the staff in the hotel are really nice and helpful. It's my second stay at this hotel/apartment so I'm familiar with the check-in procedure. Trick is call them in advance that you're checking in on a specified time and that you want the key to be ready, confirm the amount you have to pay, and that you don't want the hassle of going to Hotel Santiago to pay and get the key (yes, check-in is at its mother hotel on a different location which is a huge hassle especially if you're coming from a long trip).
Everything is well organized. The room is clean equipped with the kitchen staff. No fun there is A.C. which works very well. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room and bathroom are extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to supermarkets and restaurants in Palmarejo area. The best deal in this area.
It was in the center of Praia . Staff was very helpful and nice. They arranged the pick up from airport, money exchange, sim card.
Breakfast was good , we had coffee , eggs, fresh fruit and bottle of water . Good value for money .
The flat is brand new, very clean and it offers everything you could possibly need ( microwave, toaster, kettle, TV, WiFi, it’s very well located, just 3 mins walking from the main square which is in the safest area of Praia.
Mr.Neves was the perfect host. He took care of us from the moment we arrived at the airport and brought us to all the places we asked for.
And the apartment is decorated as by the best interior architect.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Staff were welcoming & helpful & arranged both pick up from the airport & onward travel. Spotlessly clean, great location, tasty breakfast. Happy to recommend this hotel.
The host Maria was very helpful. She showed us places where we could buy food and assisted us with getting transport to go to the airport at a very reasonable rate. A very dependable person.
Very accommodating. We asked for a driver to pick us up last minute at 1am at the airport and they delivered. Centrally located. Very friendly staff as well
Would recommend overall.
The hotel was a basic hotel with good amenities for the area. I thought it was nice and did not really have any issues. The pool was large and there was a small fitness center.
Tito is super friendly and helping. Great bed and pillows, one of the best hot showers I had in Cape Verde. If I ever come back to Praia, would definately stay here again.
Great staff. Very friendly and accommodating. Great location in centre of pedestrian mall. Great food at restaurant attached to this hotel across the street..
