Very nice small town feel. Really enjoyed the restaurants.
Very nice small town feel. Really enjoyed the restaurants. It was very hot in early April when we visited. End of the dry season so but lush at all. Everything is within walking distance. Go check out the zoo there. If you can get a car go visit Lola's which is a 40 min drive away. No one there on that beach.
Massages on the beach are inexpensive and worth it. Renting beach loungers are cheap with unbrella. Some restaurants on the beach have them too. Lots of restaurants along the beach.

Great small surf town, with everything you need within short walking distance. Variety of cuisine with Happy Hour offers (take them as food is pricey here). We mostly ate at "Soda" restaurant (any spot with Soda means it's local food). Fire throwers perform nightly around center of the beach. Tip them, it is amazing what they can do. River Boat tour showed us mangrove vegetation, crocodiles and iguanas. Blue Dolphin sunset sailing was super fun, check the wind report before booking. Horseback riding available at the beach, I'd recommend morning time when tide is low. Sand is pack then and beach is wide for them to walk on. Sun is sneaky here and you can burn easily, so be careful.

I love love love Tamarindo!
I love love love Tamarindo! I've actually been looking non-stop at properties to see if there is a place I'd like to live. It's unlikely that I will move there permanently, but I'd love to have a little place to be able to visit once in awhile!

We were disappoined in Tamarindo ~ it felt like a tourist...
We were disappoined in Tamarindo ~ it felt like a tourist trap with all the sidewalk tour booths. We went snorkeling with one of the booths by the beach which was definitely NOT worth it as there was absoluately nothing to see. We discovered Native Way & booked a tour to the Estuary which was excellent compared to another guest who booked from the booths by the beaches. I also heard many of them are scams as they want a deposit which will be the last you'll hear ofthem. We would recommend Native Way if you want to book any tours. We were disappointed becaue Tarmarindo was more expensive than we expected. There were only a few "shops" that were not filled with "souvenirs" that were probably not even made there. Go to the Night Market on Thursday or Farmer's Market on Saturday for unique gifts made by local artisans. Food at Restaurants were good but not the prices. We recommend Tabu & Pico Bistro. Pangas is over rated... food was so so but atmosopshere was out of this world.
Santiago and Sarah were AMAZING HOST. The place was comfortable, relaxing, very different, quite. Excellent location. We had everything we needed and more. We did a 10 day stay so we were there awhile and always felt welcomed and taken care of :) . The location was phenomenal as well. Close to the all the best beaches and food 😋. They also own a restaurant up the street called La Oveja…. Some of the beat food we had all trip and they accommodated us well there too! The Zen Garden was a big way to enhance our Costa Rican experience!
I was very pleased with the location along the main drag just minutes away from Tamarindo Beach and town.. I was so impressed with the hospitality and attention from the owner of this hotel.
Safe wise, there was no issue at all. Very safe place to stay.
The suite I stayed had all one can ask for immaculate cleanness, a big comfortable bad, full kitchen and beautiful decor .
Definitely, this is a hotel. I'll stay in next time I visit Tamarindo.
Both hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. They gave us tips on activities and markets and it was nice to chat spontaneously by the pool from time to time and learn something about them and Costa Rica. Even when I fell ill, they advised me where I could get medical treatment.
The hotel is also fantastic. It is very modern and clean:) you can escape the heat in the rooms:) we really enjoyed my stay there:)
Daisy and Pit from Luxembourg
The facility was beautiful and the best location in Tamarindo. We had the ocean front room that was steps from the beach. We went to all the pools and absolutely loved the breakfast! We enjoyed all of the restaurants on property and our kids were loved having everything in walking distance from our room. We felt very safe and parked our rental car with no issues in secured parking at the hotel.
-A lovely hotel for a relaxed stay in Tamarindo
-Pavel was very friendly and made sure we were feeling comfortable during our stay
-The room was spacious and the bed comfy
-Fridge and coffee machine and even a table if you need to open your laptop during the stay
-Nice little pool directly in front of the room
-Breakfast was good
-Within walking distance you have many restaurants and bar
We loved this place! it was very nicely decorated, super clean and comfortable and very close to the beach. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and very comfortable and there was also a shared outdoor kitchen for guests. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. This was one of our favourite stays in Costa Rica!
The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Staff exceeded all my expectations and the hotel made it easy to meet other travelers. The weather was very hot in Tamarindo, and the hotel's pool was a great way to cool off. AC and a mini fridge was also a relief to the extreme weather. I would definitely stay again!
Paolo in reception was fantastic and really made us feel right at home, the salt water pool was a treat to swim in for hours, the included breakfast was some of the best food we ate in Costa Rica, and the relaxing vibe was was just perfect in the middle of our busy and hectic travels through the country.
This is exactly what I was looking for in a hotel in tamarindo Costa Rica... I couldn't be happier. I'm at the owner. She was amazing. I met the general manager. He was amazing.. everyone's accommodating.. The food is terrific at the local restaurant in the facility and of course... There's the ocean
We liked the real Costa Rican feel with the tiled bathroom and wood ceilings. The pool was great and the treed yard was like being in the jungle. The deck with hammock was charming. Front desk couldn’t have been nicer. There are lots of food options close and the ocean is a couple of blocks away.
hands down the best hostel i have ever stayed in! staff is wonderful and hostel is super clean. we traveled for a few weeks thru Costa Rica and this was the only hostel that didn’t have bugs in the bedroom and kitchen area wad always clean. vibes are incredible and super easy to make new friends!
Our stay was more than fantastic! The owner and staff are more than welcome, very helpful and accommodative ! Clean , quiet, relaxing - definitely what we needed for our vacation!
We’ll definitely book here again at Tamarindo bay boutique hotel for our next trip cos it’s 100/10!
Lovely room overlooking the nice pool. Very close to restaurants, the beach etc. Shower warm, unusual for Costa Rica! Useful little shared kitchen. Heard and saw howler monkeys in the garden! Plenty of parking. Nice patio in front of room with table and chairs. Helpful staff.
The staff at this property is AMAZING! Mary, Tibo and his wife are the nicest people we met in Costa Rica. The property is beautiful with a nice pool and comfy bed BUT the breakfast and the service we had there were just something else.
Fantastic little gem of a hotel in the middle of the madness that is Tamarindo! Clean, beautiful little pool, child friendly, exceptional breakfasts. Charming planting around pool/ seating areas. Our second stay there!
Beautiful room. Liked how private and safe it felt. Owner is extremely nice and helpful. Definitely would stay here again if we went back to Costa Rica.
