Unique eco-friendly facilities and location in the tropical forest. Generous and helpful staff. Federico and his spouse, the owners, together with friends, built this amazing place from scratch with their hands thanks to clever techniques using local materials. Excellent and original vegetarian food from the farm and local suppliers available at the restaurant. The terrace of the dining room shows a spectacular view of the valley with the city of Santa Marta in the distance. Many tropical birds and mammals around, this is a great spot for birdwatching. The village of Minca is within walking distance.

This property is outstanding. It sits way above the town of Minca and the views are spectacular. As everyone says you do need a 4x4 to get there but the hotel can help you arrange. We were travelling as a family of 5 and I didn’t feel comfortable with my kids on the back of the moto taxis, but the 4x4s are very available too.
The restaurants offers simple but lovely meals and and the cabins seemed new and well cared for.
Everyone in my family agreed this was the highlight of our trip.

It was an unforgettable experience walking through nature, seeing the rivers and waterfalls. The variety of birds, the tranquility of being surrounded by so many sounds, breathtaking sunsets. I truly enjoyed the whole experience and place. Will do it again, highly recommended.

Lovely place to see birds, swim in some waterfalls, have some good coffee and chocolate on farms, get some craft beer. Very hot though— stay hydrated and pack sunscreen. I would recommend this place and advise hiking around to enjoy the nature.

Loved Minca so much.
Loved Minca so much. The town feels very catered to tourists and it was hard to find a cheap, local restaurant with a menu del dia for example but there are lots of good western-ish options and the wildlife/surrounding area is so beautiful. Highly recommend the Cerro Kennedy hike (stay at El Ramo) too.

Minca is a fantastic place to visit to get a sense of the mountainous area of Colombia and its lush and alluring jungle with all the glory of its flora and fauna. Only a short drive from the Santa Marta airport, you find ourself in a little village that is a haven to hikers, motocross bikers, and bird watchers. There are many places to eat with a variety of cuisines and for the most part the food was good. Our favorite activity was birdwatching. We had fantastic outings booked through Jungle Joe. Our guides Tony Martin and Gustavo Viloria were both extremely professional and informed. We loved the La Vittoria Coffee Plantation tucked away in the jungle. Another favorite was Rio Elemento, a hotel/restaurant on the banks of the river with an awesome swing that carries you over the rushing waters.

It is very pretty and I appreciated the access to other types of food since we had been traveling the Colombia for a bit and had been exclusively eating traditional colombian food. You cannot speak about Minca without mentioning the bugs, they are terrible! the worse part is you don’t really see them or know when you are being bit. You just look down and your legs are covered in bites. Also there is a new age spirituality vibe that is strongly felt in the town.

It’s not a party town but it’s beautiful, scenic, has lovely waterfalls! Nice place to wind down after long hikes. Either take mototaxis everywhere is you don’t want to walk or hike! Ask for a helmet!
A real slice of heaven in Colombia for relaxing. The view and pool area are just stunning. All the facilities have been very well thought out and the staff are great and very helpful. I slept in two different dorm rooms - the one with bunk beds are in an enclosed room (limited or no windows) and have an en-suite. The one with normal beds (non-bunk beds) are open rooms - so windows with no glass or only mesh and feel more open to nature (bathrooms a short walk away). I liked both options and both were very peaceful.
Very basic. Upon arrival it didn’t seem right. The Colombian owner was kind, unfortunately his partner was inebriated from when we arrived and that got worse when we got back from a trip into town - we could hear a loud argument. There were two young girls staying next door and they were both terrified during the night, as the one owner (as well as someone else) opened their room and looked into their room several times at night. We felt very uncomfortable and unsafe.
This hostel was without a doubt the best hostel we have stayed in during our three weeks in Colombia. The physical space of the place is better described as a small, lively nature park than a hostel. Incredible nature, animal life, service and an amazing staff. The place was rather empty, which was a big surprise to us given the luxurious quality and affordable pricing. We had a great time with lots of peace, serenity, hiking and socialising with the wonderful staff.
The location is absolutely stunning, just around 30min walk from Minca and you're there. Waterfalls are super close to the place, so is Polo Azul. The views from the hut are some of the most beautiful ones we had in Colombia and the food prepared for us for dinner and breakfast was absolutely delicious 😍 we can only recommend the stay here if you want to get away from the city for a bit and enjoy the nature and remoteness.
Doña Ana is so kind, helpful, and generous. She is also really nice to talk to and cares so much about the people who stay with her. She helped us communicate with the taxi driver that brought us to Minca, as well as arranging a taxi for when we left. The location is great, about a 12 minute walk away from the center of the town (take the marked shortcut on the road). Rustic but comfy and we had a lovely time.
The place and the view is fabulous and the family who owns this place were more than kind and helpful. They helped me to organise a safe taxi to Minca and then back to airport when I left. I would recommend this higly for everyone and expesially if you don't know much about Colombia! When the sun rises/sets you can see the tucans flying to the trees in front of the balcony. Spectacular.
MADE YOU FEEL AT HOME !!! so manny cats absolutely loved it and the location is perfect right next to the shuttle station, I do however recommend buying groceries before you go to Minca best decision I ever made but anywho staff are amazing and if you do need anything the biggest store in town is literally attached to it!
Great staff and place to stay. Wonderful breakfast. Nice to have a pool to cool off in after hiking back from the falls.
Lots of sitting area around the pool and up in the breakfast area. Great view of the mountains and down in to Santa Marta from the roof top. Oh and the best hot shower we have had in Colombia.
This is our favourite place we have stayed in Colombia so far. Location is right near the town our views from our balcony were gorgeous. The staff were so lovely made you feel right at home. Cocktails were 👌🏻and the food is absolutely delicious you can really tell the chef cares about what he is plating up
It is a wonderful place with very tasty food and wine (the last is not always the case in Colombia), magnificent view to the hills and friendly personal! They were very helpful when I wanted to solve my problem (not about the hotel)! I can recommend this hotel for staying in Minca!
This was my favourite place in all of Colombia. I felt welcome, safe and relaxed here. Our cabin was wonderful with a view to admire the community reserve and Santa Marta in the far distance. Everyone was super friendly and the restaurant served great original local meals.
Great place to stay, peacefully located next to the river, with good breakfast. Super friendly host. She helped us with every request and did not hesitate to cancel one night when we couldn't reach the hotel due a thunderstorm.
this hotel has the best views in Minca. although it is quite far from Minca (10km ) the journey is worth the experience.the staff(and especially bar staff) are very friendly. I highly recommend staying here
Everything. This place is a paradaise, so peaceful, in the nature with colibries flying around your head. Bed is very comfortable, hot water. The best food in Colombia. Thank you, for amazing time.
Beautiful, quiet hostel in the hills of Minca with incredible views of the jungle on one side and Santa Marta on the other. I extended my stay two times and really didn't want to leave.
