Unique eco-friendly facilities and location in the tropical forest. Generous and helpful staff. Federico and his spouse, the owners, together with friends, built this amazing place from scratch with their hands thanks to clever techniques using local materials. Excellent and original vegetarian food from the farm and local suppliers available at the restaurant. The terrace of the dining room shows a spectacular view of the valley with the city of Santa Marta in the distance. Many tropical birds and mammals around, this is a great spot for birdwatching. The village of Minca is within walking distance.

This property is outstanding. It sits way above the town of Minca and the views are spectacular. As everyone says you do need a 4x4 to get there but the hotel can help you arrange. We were travelling as a family of 5 and I didn’t feel comfortable with my kids on the back of the moto taxis, but the 4x4s are very available too.
The restaurants offers simple but lovely meals and and the cabins seemed new and well cared for.
Everyone in my family agreed this was the highlight of our trip.

Lovely place to see birds, swim in some waterfalls, have some good coffee and chocolate on farms, get some craft beer. Very hot though— stay hydrated and pack sunscreen. I would recommend this place and advise hiking around to enjoy the nature.

Loved Minca so much.
Loved Minca so much. The town feels very catered to tourists and it was hard to find a cheap, local restaurant with a menu del dia for example but there are lots of good western-ish options and the wildlife/surrounding area is so beautiful. Highly recommend the Cerro Kennedy hike (stay at El Ramo) too.

Minca is a fantastic place to visit to get a sense of the mountainous area of Colombia and its lush and alluring jungle with all the glory of its flora and fauna. Only a short drive from the Santa Marta airport, you find ourself in a little village that is a haven to hikers, motocross bikers, and bird watchers. There are many places to eat with a variety of cuisines and for the most part the food was good. Our favorite activity was birdwatching. We had fantastic outings booked through Jungle Joe. Our guides Tony Martin and Gustavo Viloria were both extremely professional and informed. We loved the La Vittoria Coffee Plantation tucked away in the jungle. Another favorite was Rio Elemento, a hotel/restaurant on the banks of the river with an awesome swing that carries you over the rushing waters.

It is very pretty and I appreciated the access to other types of food since we had been traveling the Colombia for a bit and had been exclusively eating traditional colombian food. You cannot speak about Minca without mentioning the bugs, they are terrible! the worse part is you don’t really see them or know when you are being bit. You just look down and your legs are covered in bites. Also there is a new age spirituality vibe that is strongly felt in the town.

It’s not a party town but it’s beautiful, scenic, has lovely waterfalls! Nice place to wind down after long hikes. Either take mototaxis everywhere is you don’t want to walk or hike! Ask for a helmet!

This is a unique place, a mix of wilderness and elegance, with a breathtaking view - wherever you look - and a magical atmosphere. The people working here are amazing - in terms of professional and human qualities. The food is excellent - by far the best we had in Colombia. Pilar, the charismatic owner, took care of us and our needs and suggested great excursions. The place is somehow extreme and provides great adventures. And it has a kind heart. Unforgettable.
Spacious dorm with good ensuite bathroom/shower facilities. Great location a short and pleasant walk across the river to town and very quiet in the evenings. Staff are friendly, can't comment on service as we never ordered anything from the restaurant/bar. Breakfast was good, the biggest breakfast we have had in Colombia that was included in our accommodation price. A/C worked well, although to be honest at night in Minca you don't really need it.
It’s a very small hostal, but because of that it’s much more sociable, as there’s one shared area and everyone hung out together. very mixed aged travellers which was super nice. The best equipped kitchen! Great location, at the edge of town but within walking distance. Located in the middle of nature. One of the best places I stayed in Colombia.
Beautifully luxurious domes and hotel property with a stunning view over the rolling green mountains all the way to the sea. You can see the sunset (clouds permitting) from the hot tub. A perfect, tranquil location and one of our favourite accommodations during our time in Colombia. Not cheap but worth it.
This was one of the best hostels I stayed at during my time in Colombia!
It has amazing facilities and a very nice and chill vibe to it. Andres and the rest of the crew were always super nice and helpful with anything. Breakfast and food in general was super yummy. Definitely want to come back here soon :)
Absolutely everything. The staff is really nice and they took great care of me when I was sick, going to the pharmacy to pick up medicine. Not to mention the ball pool for the kids and the fantastic view. Our family had a fantastic time in this hotel. If we come back to Colombia we will go back there
Amazing, welcoming, and friendly staff. Incredible vibe and gorgeous grounds. Fantastic food. English spoken. I was hesitant to book because I was concerned how hot the semi-outdoor rooms would get in the Colombian heat, but it was fine. Couldn't offer a higher recommendation.
Awesome location, 10 minute walk to town( easy and safe), and located on the river. That had a nice pool, but we enjoying the river so much that we never used the pool. Excellent free breakfast. Very nice family run hotel. I would definitely stay there again..
Great place to stay, peacefully located next to the river, with good breakfast. Super friendly host. She helped us with every request and did not hesitate to cancel one night when we couldn't reach the hotel due a thunderstorm.
We stayed 2 nights in Costeño River Minca, in one of the mountain view rooms. The rooms are very nice, with an amazing view on the rain forest. Same goes for the swimming pool. The food is also very nice at a very decent price.
Everything. This place is a paradaise, so peaceful, in the nature with colibries flying around your head. Bed is very comfortable, hot water. The best food in Colombia. Thank you, for amazing time.
the most beautiful and breathtaking hotel we have ever stayed in. The views are amazing and the house has a great flow. Secluded yet you babe access to many things with delivery service.
Beautiful spot on the river, which you can access via a gate to swim/wad in. Good location in town and yet still quiet. A very nice looking hotel with great seating areas to hang out.
The cabanas are definitely amazing with an incredible view and the shower is well arranged. However in Colombia you can find incredible accommodations similar for half the price.
Location! The views were astounding. The room was comfortable with a balcony where we could drink in the views and watch the birds. Best breakfast we’ve had so far in Colombia.
The hostal is on a beautiful mountain with a lot of spots to chill and relax. The stuff are the best people I have met in Colombia and I had the best time there!
The hostel is well located in the center of the city of Minca. it was extremely clean. one of the cleanest I’ve been to in Colombia! the staff was nice.
