Flyhof, hotel in Obstalden

The traditionally built, historic wood and stone house Flyhof in Weesen is a family-owned hotel, set directly at the shores of Lake Walen.

Flyhof is situated lakeside on Walensee, with breathtaking views waterside of the whole length of the lake and surrounding snow-capped mountains. Hosts Sarah and Burkhard are true professionals and obviously care deeply that you are always happy during your stay. They are attentive and happy to chat about the everyday, whilst offering plenty of advice and tips for exploring the surrounding areas. The hotel itself is "bijou" with just 4 (or 5?) bedrooms. Put together, its hosts and size make for a very pleasing, very personal experience. Every morning of my stay I breakfasted on tasty fresh bread, croissants, yoghurts and cereals; occasionally upping the ante to add delicious hams and cheese when my appetite demanded. I found the evening restaurant food and service to be equally excellent, and it appeared that locals would agree with me as many visitors from outwith the hotel register were happy to dine here. Situated in a quiet no through road, the hotel is an excellent hub for hikers and bikers to explore Walensee locally and beyond. To the east is the spectacular Seerenbachfalle, to the west is the pretty harbour at Weesen and the ferry that criss-crosses up and down the lake. A regular bus service is a 5 minute walk from Flyhof should you wish to explore more extensively, as I did on several occasions. In summary, I highly recommend Flyhof to those who seek the experiences I have described above. I adored every moment

Seminarhotel Lihn, hotel in Obstalden

Seminarhotel Lihn enjoys a quiet location in Filzbach on the Kerenzerberg plateau. It offers panoramic views of Lake Walen and the Churfirsten mountain and free Wi-Fi.

Clean renovated room with mountain view. Because we got a corner room, wind could go through the room and it was very nice. We asked for a quiet room and they gave us the furthest room on the top floor. It was quiet. No tv in the room but we didn't need one. Table with two chairs were very nice. Breakfast had many kinds of items like museli, juices, yogurt, dried fruits, mixed or sliced fruit, breads, jams, lunch meat, cheese. Coffee machines was nice as some other hotels give you only one cup of coffee. There are many hiking trails nearby but study where it's going first. We went down to the lake on steep hill and it was not a loop! We walked 3 hours and had to take a bus from another town! But it was a fantastic stay.
