Large, clean rooms. Small but clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. Could have had some guidance on the way to operate the TV. Not the usual stuff. Reasonable buffet breakfast, included in the price. So was parking, conveniently located just within the grounds.

A couple of nice restaurants (we enjoyed Tim Horton's and Donnelly's Pub), small, walkable, very pleasant town. Lots of construction on important roads while we were there, and detour signs aren't always accurate, so difficulty getting to Niagara and finding open entrance to QEW.

The lock system was what drew me to Thorold but I enjoyed the town itself as well. I had dinner at places near the historic town center: Donnelly’s pub, where I had a great lamb stew, and breakfast at Hana’s which was friendly with good food. I found some nice shops in that area as well and some lovely homes and parks.
The hotel rooms are spotlessly clean, beds were comfortable, the bathroom has obviously recently been updated. The location and balcony are ideal for watching the huge boats passing through Lock 7. The town of Thorold is charming. A special treat was discovering that on Friday evenings in the summer there is a “Ride Night” of vintage cars in the town centre.
The staff were pleasant and very accommodating. We will definitely stay here again if we return to the area.
This is one of our favourite properties and we always stay here when we travel to this area.
Everything is taken care of for the Hotel Guests and there is nothing not to like in this property. The Hotel Staff, are very accomodating and look after guests requests very energetically and promptly.
Then manager try to help me out resolve the problem. But for me still, the hotel could be the best in the world after a failure like that in a pandemic situation I will not come back.
Watching the immense ships in Lock 7 right outside your window rivals Niagara Falls. There is no other hotel like this one in the area. It is a true hidden gem.
