The staff are terrific, housekeeping and the guys at reception try and do their best with what they have to work with.
The rooms look fresh and modern but the age of the building dictates what can be done, so there are gaps under the doors for noise and mice/rats, the heating cooling system has more gaps, the hot water system takes ages to heat. Everything looks nice but we had our luggage eaten by a rat/mice who spent the night chewing through fabric and snacks. So what do you do? Reception clearly had heard of this problem before, there are many other reviews advising this problem but the owners are not fixing, we still had a second night before flying out but the town was full so moving not an option so we stayed but felt very worried and uncomfortable. The room rate removed for the first night paid for replacement luggage. But this is not a good situation

We stayed twice - the first time for two nights and the second time just for one night. The hotel is just over 1km from the metro so getting to downtown is easy. By the metro station (which is also the line that takes you to the airport) there is a large outlet mall.
Lots of other things close by but need to taxi or Uber.

I initially stayed in Richmond in a lovely apartment right downtown. Very walkable and close to public tranist - buses and train. The food court in the Richmond Centre Mall was great and reasonably priced with plenty of variety to choose from. As a single I chose not to go out for dinner etc. The walking off the main street was pleasant as lots of trees etc. Felt very safe. Took a bus out to Steveston for a day - easy to get to and lovely.

This is a fairly cheap hotel near the airport in Vancouver. Vancouver is not a cheap place! We booked it very very late, about 1am in the morning of the night we stayed and it was a better experience than we expected. The night porter was brilliant and very helpful. Our only issue was in finding the place as apparently it has moved location of changed name very recently. For us, it was much better than an Air Canada supplied camp bed (cot) (still better than nothing) in the check-in area along with 300 other people!
Staff were so friendly and the front desk helped us with a number of requests. The breakfast had enough hot and cold dishes to suit anyone’s taste. The location was about a five minute walk from Richmond Centre a large shopping mall. Many restaurants around within a five minute walk and a Vietnamese restaurant next door to the hotel. We had supper there on Christmas Day and the meal was excellent.
Location to restaurants and easy walk to sky train. Hotel is good value compared to others in Vancouver. Its just needs some updating in places. Hotel is very clean though.
Vancouver airport is nearby. Complimentary Shuttle bus ferry us to the hotel.
Room is big and clean. Simple breakfast.
