If you are driving to this town from Calgary then avoid highway 1. So much construction is going on and will slow you down. If you have taken highway 1 then after taking the ferry from revelstoke, avoid turning left after ferry ride and keep going straight. Google map takes you from trout lake but its muddy, narrow and gravel. Avoid that route. You wouldnt fund any rude human in this town. Very polite and caring people. Worth driving 8 hours for this town.

Great restaurants, Kaslo Hotel and Treehouse Restaurant both great food and reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful people. Easy to get around Kaslo in your own vehicle, however a Taxi or Uber service is definitely needed. Our destination trip was for the British Invasion and the Garlic Festival, feel they could be Saturday and Sunday. If the British Invasion had been on a Saturday it could have combined with British foods and gift items in the market.

This is a hotel in an older style which was its own attraction. The room was spacious and comfortable and had its own balcony. The restaurant was popular and the food was good. The hotel overlooked the lake which was lovely, but unfortunately we did not have the weather to enjoy it.

You could tell the hotel is very well cared for. Maintenance in the room was impeccable as there was no paint chips on the walls or broken tiles in the bathroom. Also the room was very quiet including the heating system.

Philipine was a friendly, attentive host. Nothing was too much trouble. The rustic cabin was very clean and suited us perfectly. Great location for Kaslo, 15 minutes walk by the lakeshore

It was fine. Things I liked about my visit had nothing to do with the hotel.
