Hamilton is a surprising city with a real mix of high culture (the art museum) and the gritty artifacts of its industrial past. Old Hamilton has a lot to do, see, eat, and drink, all walkable and with easy access to the GO Train. The Mountain (the Niagara Escarpment) is harder to access except by car, full of unhighlighted history and glimpses of a grand vista over Lake Ontario. The Bruce Trail and Dundas Valley Trails are accessible but you have to pay $11 to park. Newer homes and retail strip malls make this area seem like a suburb of Old Hamilton, with the escarpment as the natural barrier. As with all suburban areas, we got the impression that tourists were not welcome “Nothing to see here!” , a curious undervaluing of a novel bit of Ontario.

Hamilton is the best location to be able to access many attractions without paying very high prices and having large crowds when the day ends. Niagara Falls is just 30 minutes away and Toronto is just less than an hour. There is plenty of shopping and good restaurants. I have stayed in both Toronto and Niagara and found them to be very expensive for everything you do. It was far nicer to be a reasonable distance from both and be comfortable at a place between.

The global impression of Hamilton tends to be negative - and it is not deserved. We found the architecture to be wonderful, the people to be friendly and dining to be varied and generally very good (loved The Mule). We got lost walking one day and a gentleman actually drove us back downtown - over the top hospitality! The weather was very mild and the gardens were still in bloom - but we'd love to see more of it in the summer. Some of the key attractions were just not open, such as the air museum, or closed several days of the week, which was disappointing.

I was disappointed that most bars/restaurants were closed Sunday night. It was not easy to find something open where our group of friends could celebrate following a Grey Cup win. A BIG shoutout to The Cat ‘N’ Fiddle for being open that night. The city of Hamilton could do some things to beautify their city. I was only there for the Grey Cup but am definitely not drawn to go back for any other reasons.

Location was great and was reasonably priced.
Parking in area is not good. 22 steps and no railings are not acceptable. "Ola" bakery next door was fantastic, owners was 1 in a million, so warm and outgoing. Don't find em like her and hubby very often. Even gave us freebees for the road when leaving. WOW!

Much of the city to the east of downtown had a run down and dilapidated feel about it. A number of restaurants seem closed or shut down and the number of places for drug rehabilitation and services for people with problems did not create the best impression. On top of the escarpment was a different world.
The main reasons for our visit, The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and HMCS Haida were very worthwhile and the waterfront parks were very pleasant.
I liked the institutional feel, the high celings and the fact that you get a kitchenette (fridge, microwave). Abd the windows opened on to a nice view of the campus. The staff were amazing, and were keen to help get me additional things I needed (like a kettle, an HDMI cable, etc). Parking was plentiful, easy to register for and absolutely no hassle. And while the mountain location was a bit far from downtown, it had great views nearby.
We intentionally booked this hotel the night before our trip to the Niagara Falls. We were surprised by this hotel as it is great quality, nice rooms and a steakhouse next to it. Price was very good too! It is obviously located next to the highway and there is nothing around except for a big Walmart, a Five Guys Burger shop and some others, but for the price and for what we expected, this was very good!
Excellent downtown location. Very short (3 minute) walk to Hamilton GO Centre. Access to public transit, bike share facilities, or walking to many amenities and attractions.
The apartment, although older, was very well maintained/kept, and had modern furnishings as well has some modern finishes.
Rooms were spacious, clean, hotel was convenient for being able to walk to Hess Village, there was lots of restaurants and breweries near by.
Pool was excellent temperature and the patio adjacent to the pool was excellent with lots of seating and loungers.
Great little apartment near downtown and matches price point. The host was really engaged and helpful.
The hustle and bustle or working life ia around the apartment, with residents leaving and returning from work.
Upon arrival I knew the hotel would exceed my expectations because it was bright, shining clean and cheerful. The staff were positive and eager to please. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud! I highly recommend
Very clean and cozy. The bathroom shower was the best I've experienced in a hotel! Jacuzzi was clean and spacious. Towels were clean and fluffy, well kept. Overall, (I'm a critic) and enjoyed our stay very much!!
Everything you can imagine ,The BEST place I have stayed in Canada .I love all everything about the home I stayed will surely come back again and again …Self service never felt so so goooooooddd
The hotel is clean, located close to the downtown area, easy to reach. The room was comfortable. It had a microwave and fridge so that we could have food on hand. Staff were very helpful.
this place is absolutely beautiful! the courtyard is really nice ..the rooms are massive ..and just an overall nice place .. it’s is the nicest hotel I have stayed at in Hamilton so far
The room was great! Loved the separation of the sleeping area to the living room/kitchen. Breakfast was amazing, great options and excellent taste. Security of the hotel was very nice!
We booked this hotel but couldn't stay the night. The key box was empty so we couldn't enter the room. We waited a lot and we were very tired. No refund. We have a lot of complaints.
