It is a very nice place to do some sports activities and enjoy the nature at the same time. Bancroft is also a good starting point to go to the Algonquin Provincial Park. Although there are some good Restaurants in town, can highly recommend the Granite. Visiting Bancroft by car, I think, will be the best opportunity.

History and geology of the area is interesting.
History and geology of the area is interesting. Bancroft is a hub for the region; it has everything you need. It even has an amazing army surplus store. Excellent book store, rock hunting, museum (well worth spending some time), music in the park on Wednesdays and a great cafe run by volunteers, where money supports local youth and programs. And you should visit the Eagle's nest for a spectacular view. A lovely town to explore and spend some time.

Bancroft is a quant town, quiet and very friendly.
Bancroft is a quant town, quiet and very friendly. They have the basics of what you need - banks, groceries, restaurants/take-out, and great little shops up and down main street. Lots of opportunities to view wildlife going through scenic roads, lots of water access opportunities for fishing, swimming, boating, etc. Check out Eagle's Nest for amazing views of town and the surrounding area (York River, etc.). Millennium Park is also a great place to walk or have a picnic.

We had a lot of fun going to the different stores that we don't normally have in the big city. We ate at a couple of nice restaurants. The food was good as in BC cafe of course, his winter time so there's not a lot of stuff to do other than snowmobiling or something like that and we're not into that in the summer time. There's a lot more to do. I've stayed there in the summer time. Of course I didn't have any problem with the heat and summer time cuz you don't have to worry about that

A beautiful town set against the mountain makes for a lovely photo. Lots of quaint stores, parks, and restaurants. We ate supper at Bancroft Brew Pub. Highly recommended as the food was excellent. Eagles Nest lookout is lovely with lots of hiking trails. We were in Bancroft on a Wednesday and Thursday and the traffic seemed crazy for midweek. Business days are short in Bancroft with a lot of places not opening until 10 and closing at 4 or 5.
The booking.com said that this booking shall offer complementary breakfast but the property operates kitchen only for Thursday to Sundays. Had I known this, I would have stayed in any of the other property available in Bancroft city. I was happy to pay extra for a couple of scrambled eggs and bread slices but the owners said it is not possible.
Location is very good.
Traveling for our honeymoon. Rooms are clean, beds are not very comfortable, but the staff has been excellent and accommodating. We spent most of our trip outdoors and sightseeing, so the location was perfect. The area surrounding the hotel was beautiful.
The staff were very polite and informative. The room was very clean and bright. I will for sure stay again next time we go to Bancroft. You have to go to Eagles Nest Park and check on the lookout. It's just wonderful.
We loved staying in the hotel! It was cozy, comfy, and very clean. The bed was amazing, and it was also very quiet through the night. The staff was very nice as well. We'll definitely be back!
Room was a decent size. Breakfast was quite good, not much options. Coffee was fresh. Location of hotel is great, close to Shoppers Drugmart, No Frills, and fast food restaurants.
