Nice guest house in a great area of Hopkins with several restaurants in the neighborhood (try the Indian next door!!!).
The public area around the pool and the pool itself need some face lifting.
In general the property has great potential, just needs some maintenance & design efforts & investment

I’m from Belize and Hopkins is a taste of paradise. But be sure to have enough cash on you because there is only one ATM in the village that may or may not work and The Taxi only takes cash. The next closest ATM is in Dangriga.

The food and people are so nice!
The food and people are so nice! Queen beans was amazing for breakfast, Katz coffee for coffee and waffles. JJ’s was our favorite spot for lunch and dinner: good food and prices. Other places were good too but much pricier for similar food. We drive around town bc we had a 1yo but I can see it being a nice walk.

Hopkins is a linear village maybe 7 miles long paralleling the sea. There are some high end resorts but local guest rooms predominate. Residents never failed to assist us in finding taxis, food stores or support services. The food was excellent whether it was consumed in a resturant, local bar or kitchen hut. Bicycles are very helpful in getting around. We found a really nice mix of folks. Don't miss the Garifuna music and food.

Hopkins is a small, rural town - one paved road that goes the length of the town plus a few unpaved roads. So, if you are looking for a small beach town with very friendly people, Hopkins may be for you. There is a good grocery store and several good dining options. Hopkins was a great home base for us for a few days as we explored a couple national parks in the area.

Peaceful, out of the way.
Peaceful, out of the way. Needed to rent a golf cart for greater variety of dining and grocery shopping but that is what our family likes. Very low key place. People are very kind and friendly. Quiet place to relax and enjoy the beach.

Hopkins Bay Smoky Bar & Grill (Barbara and Richard) were super kind! Maxim's gave us great deals too. Ella's and Driftwood were popular spots. Nice Cream was delicious. Rhum Shack at the resort were delicious. We could walk everywhere! We rented a car to get from BZE to Hopkins, which helped a lot so we could travel to other places.
Loot at Erik and Luis' Maayan Ruin/Cave Tubing on Viator (1:30 hour drive). I suggest Seahorse Dive Shop about 1:20 hours away for scuba diving/snorkeling, too.

A great Hostel with bunks, family and individual room. Well known in the area, had all you need for a backpacking/short stay. Very close to all that Hopkins has to offer.
As with most hostels, had some great chats with people from around the world.
