Sizeable clean rooms, good sized beds and rustic furniture. TV sets with English, Bulgarian, French channels.
Bathroom small but clean and as you would expect normally.
Restaurant and hotel with romantic fireplaces and actual wooden log-fires. Picturesque village with lots of hotels and restaurants, people friendly and want to help.
Very friendly personnel, the ladies in the restaurant and reception were helpful despite very little English language knowledge. Small streets and limited parking in the area - but remember this is a village.
Nearby is a village museum that opens at 9am.

Melnik is an absolutely gorgeous town with amazing old architecture and Pyramid rocks towering over the town. Its really hot here during summer. A hotel with a pool highly recommended. The people are friendly. Service and food is great. Being a well reputed wine region the wine everywhere is very very good.
Everything is walkable in the main centre. So many restaurants to choose from. Make sure you make the hike to the monastery. The views from the top are spectacular.

Melnik is a very beautiful village, stay there but do not eat at the local taverns if you are not bulgarian. Very expensive, they charge double price compared to what they charge to the locals. You can have exceptional food quality and half prices at Petric and maybe at other nearby villages

Melnik is lovely with lots of wine to try. Good for hiking too. Walking to the monastery is a must!
It does NOT have a pharmacy. Finding basic things like paracetamol was a nightmare. A kind member of staff from a hotel gave me one of his arthritis meds.

Regarding the hotel - everything was perfect - the room, the breakfast, the staff. The hotel also has an excellent location - on a walking distance from all wine cellars & restaurants.
Melnik itself is the Bulgarian wine capital - so go there anytime you visit the country.
And do not miss the Museum of the wine.

Melnik is the smallest and also my favourite town in Bulgaria. Its wine culture, its architecture and the nature surrounding it, are unique. If I would take my foreign friends to any place in the country, Melnik would definitely be in the top 3. Fully recommend!

Hikers, nature lovers, photographers and wine lovers should...
Hikers, nature lovers, photographers and wine lovers should not miss this town, which is known as the "smallest town" in Bulgaria with around 200 residents. It's one of the few places where nature has shaped big sand pyramids, some of which can reach a height of 100 meters. There are unlimited possibilities for hikes from the town, the most popular are to Rozhen Monastery and to a church in Zlatolist where a 1,300-year-old platanus tree is located. The town sees many tourists and plastic pollution is a big problem, like in most of Bulgaria. Soon there will be more discarded plastic bottles than pyramids here.
A nice newly constructed and furnished house in a traditional style, on a top location in the town. The host Antoan is amazing - very friendly and enthusiastic in telling us about the history of the region, landmarks, wine production and other interesting things. And all the communication was in good English. He organized a wine tasting in their own cellar, which is actually a cave in the specific Melnik rock.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The price/quality ratio is perfect.
The room was quite spacious, providing ample room for three or even four individuals thanks to the presence of a couch. The bed was comfortable, offering sufficient space for our belongings. We were treated to a splendid view from our balcony, which overlooked the illuminated cross atop the mountain in the evening. The owners were exceptionally pleasant and friendly. The hotel's design exudes a distinct Roman Empire ambiance.
The person who greeted us at reception (and made breakfast the next day) was lovely. Little English but very helpful.
The room was large and clean. The shower was hot.
The breakfast was called 'Complet' and consisted of toast, jam, tomatoes, cheese, peppers, cucumbers, hard boiled egg, etc. (this was the vegetarian option).
The hotel is in a good position to explore the village.
We had a very pleasant stay. The house is clean, rooms are spacious and comfortable. Feels like everything is made and decorated with love and care, you enter the room and you feel at home. The house is near the center. The host is very nice and welcoming. There was a fantastic view from our room.
Nice and clean rooms in a renovated traditional house. The rooms have a view to the pyramids and the valley. It is in a quiet streat in the central part of town. There are available parking places just in front of the house. The lady was very nice and she knows a lot about the history of Melnik.
everything was exceptionally nice! the location is central with views over Melnik old houses. the city has only dirt road, however it wasn't a hassle to park nearby the house. the owner, Georgi is kind and helpful, welcoming us with cold watermelon. the room is spacious, clean and comfortable.
Everything was perfect in the hotel during our stay. The staff is amazing, very polite and helpful. We turned out to be in a room with hot tub, it was very big surprise for us. In the property there is a big pool and amazing restaurant with very delicious food. I recommend 10000%
We've enjoyed spending one evening/night in Melnik, walking on its narrow streets and tasting traditional Bulgarian food. The hotel is following a rustic decoration, no elevator (but we had a separate bag for this transit night), hotel and our room were clean.
Very nice place with excellent restaurant and service. We were in Melnik for 1 overnight, next time we will stay 2 or 3. Melnik is a small town surrounded with magnificent views and mountains, for sure it's a must see destination for the travellers.
Nice lounge downstairs with comfortable sofas to relax on. Good view of Melnik from the restaurant. Receptionists and restaurant staff very helpful. They packed my breakfast for take away ready at 7:00 AM by request. Clean room and nice bathroom.
Old house refurbished with style, with a very good view of the quaint little village of Melnik. The host was friendly and the room itself was nice. We especially like the breakfast (the pancakes reminded me of my grandmother's)...
This hotel is in the heart of Melnik so you can park and walk. The rooms are tight but have what you need for a couple of nights. Breakfast was lovely. We would book the renovated rooms if we return to Melnik.
Second time I stay here and I believe I will always choose this hotel in Melnik. I love the building and the interior. Comfortable parking and great location. Rooms are comfy. Nice vibe.
The hospitality was incredible and the room was great! Clean, spacious and modern with a lovely view. The host was very communicative and I truly felt like I was staying with family.
a good, quiet, clean location, we rested on the way home considering that we had to arrive urgently. good value for money.
