Too cold and windy to go on the beach, but I think it would be lovely to go there when the weather is sunny. We were only there for 24 hours but would like to return to see more of the area.

Ostend is fine for a couple of nights.
Ostend is fine for a couple of nights. Some good bar/restaurants where we had excellent steak. Good selection of great Belgian beers too. Ostend is only a half hour from Bruges (even quicker by train), so can be used a a base to explore Flanders. It's also only an hour or so from Calais (and on a good road) so easy to get to.

Take the Tram along the coast to De Panne near the French border or the other way to Knokke near the Dutch Border.

Ostend was very attractive.
Ostend was very attractive. There are lots of big green parks to wander through, and a huge sandy beach with a big promenade. There are lots of bars and cafes, and also some attractive old parts of town where Paris-style balconied apartments can be viewed. There are buses and trams in town, and the train takes only 11 minutes to get to Bruges for day trips.

I visited ManiFiesta, an annual festival of solidarity at the Wellington horse track. It takes place in early September and it's a wonderful opportunity to see live music and dance, but also for debates, films and to meet like-minded people from all over Europe. I met trade unionists from all across the world, amazing. So nice that you can visit the festival and also enjoy the beach and the city of Ostend.

we go every year for the W-Festival. a lovely music festival accompanied by the lovely seaside ambient, beautiful promenade and beaches. Very close to Ghent and Brugges. reachable by train. An hour train from Brussels, 15 mins to Brugges and 30 mins to Ghent- Sint Peters.
As a family with 2 kids we had a great stay at the apartment!
The location is perfect if you like it quiet and close to the beach at the same time.
All rooms were very clean and the interior included everything needed…
We also appreciated the friendly and direct contact with the owner of the apartment!
We will definitely come again to visit Ostend and enjoy the nearbys from the view of „Happy Ostend“!

The receptionist/Manager was amazing and really looked after us. She was reassuring and went out of her way to show us around. She definitely deserves a pay rise. Because of her we will definitely be back even to say hello next time in Oostende. The room was nice and the bed was really comfortable. Even though it was a short trip it was memorable and we do miss Oostende and we will be back again soon.
Very nice compact room with everything you need for a short holiday or a business trip. well-equipped kitchen and good quality fridge. Good quality bed and sofabed. close to the nightlife of Ostend but not so close you would hear it. The hotel is within spitting distance of the beach.
The communication with the Hotel was very good and friendly and the room was also spotless.
Spacious clean room. Slightly dated with some wear and tear (wallpaper, carpet). Well equipped bathroom. Shower without door requires some care to avoid splashing water all around (but is much better than a curtain). The semi-transparant doors for the toilet and bathroom could be surprising for some but totally ok for us.

I loved the location, Mr. Hu was very gracious. The staff was exceptional! The free breakfast was an added treat and very good!!! The property & rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfortable. I loved this hotel & the staff & the location so much that I will be returning this weekend with some friends from America !!!
We particularly loved the ease of just walking out the door onto the promenade, the underground parking makes things easy as well, and after a long day of walking the extensive beaches of Oostende, the restaurant in the hotel just topped off a fantastic experience. Great service in the restaurant as well.
THE VIEW!!! The window facing the beach and port offers the main attraction of this appartment. It is also well situated with convenient access to underground public parking and easy walking within the city center. We will likely make this our preferred place to stay on return trips to Oostende!
Appartement was nice and clean. It's in the neighbourhood of Mariacherche, wich can be better than Oostende if you don't want a crowded beach. Furniture was comfortable.

Hotel Bottelje is central in Ostend. I stayed there as part of a cycle trip to Belgium and there was secure storage for my bike in the garage. The room was a good size and very comfortable and designed around the theme of Belgian beer. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful
