the Vis has wonderful views of the canal and it is a delight to watch the huge barges slowly passing . Unfortunatley it was raining when we were there and so couldn't take advantage of the seats on the balcony.

We had a fantastic stay at Madelette B&B. Kathy is an excellent host and ensured every detail of our stay was to our liking. She gave us many recommendations for places to eat and other suggestions nearby. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated with a comfy bed, beautiful bathroom and a lovely terrace to ourselves.
The breakfast was also incredible - Kathy makes pretty much everything herself and it is all delicious. I particularly loved Kathy’s homemade chocolate spread!
The closest restaurants are about a 30minute walk away through beautiful fields and a village.

Really nice old traditional and some interesting landmarks and history. Bakery with really nice quality familiar pastries at surprisingly attractive prices on the market place very friendly people.
This hotel exceeded what we imagined. The room was spacious and had a little kitchenette. It was very quiet and peaceful as well. It is in a reasonable location but we can't say about the surrounding area for any bars/restaurants as we rode to the Menen Gate for the nightly Last Post ceremony.
The inner yard of the hotel was quiet and had tables and chairs, one could sit on in the evening. The reception had a vending machine for emergency purchases (snacks and drinks).
The hotel in general is rather worn down, but still comfortable and clean.
