On arrival, the receptionist advised of the weekend breakfast times, which would usually start after our group were leaving, but they kindly accommodated our breakfast and hour early, which was incredibly generous of them.
All the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the showers were awesome. 1 of the twin rooms was a little smaller but completely manageable! It also had tea & coffee facilities (woo!!!)
Great black out curtains, and considering there was an event going on in the square, when I closed the window , you could hardly hear any of it.
Great location - literally off the Grote Markt.
We will definitely be staying in the future.

A wide selection of food for Breakfast was available. Our room was on the first floor which suited us. The hotel location was a big plus being so close to the main square in Ypes.

Ypres has something for everyone. The restaurants have a variety of culinary options for every taste. Bars are friendly and comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating for drinks, a coffee, snacks or meals. Bicycles for hire mechanical or electric allow a visitor access to the countryside free from traffic and ease of viewing around the town. Tourist information in the Cloth Hall are very helpful and friendly. The historical buildings and the green environment really add towards an air of peace. A special treat is a walk along the town walls. Parking in the Market Square is not a problem nor overnight parking either. Don’t park in the Square on Friday night as there is a Market on Saturday and your car will be towed away. Shopping is a delight with supermarket, chocolate, books, fair trade and clothing all within walking distance of the Square. If Commemoration is part of your visit the Menin Gate Last Post ceremony each evening at 8 p.m. is very moving and an experience different from all others. Ypres is a gateway to Flanders: its people, its green environment, cycle paths, surrounding historical monuments with visitor centres throughout the countryside and its delicious foods.

We were a group of friends, we visited local war graves and stayed for the Last Post at the Menin Gate, which was well done and very respectful (although you need to get there at least 1 hour before the service to see anything). We do intend to visit again to explore the region further.

Ieper (Ypres) is an ideal base for exploring WW1 sites & cemetaries. The historic Cloth Hall contains an impressive museum and if you go it's worth paying the extra few euros to climb the 230 steps to the top of the bell tower. The views of the city are impressive from here.
The Last Post Ceremony every night at 8 pm is a moving and thought provoking tribute. It's a must if you can make it.

Ieper holds a horrendous history when it comes down to the tragic loss of life.
But on the other hand it has a sense of peace when you walk around.
The battles took place 108 years ago, so its good that there are still preserved sites to visit that this is never forgotten.

Ypres is a wonderful experience.
Ypres is a wonderful experience. Visit Menin Gate at 8pm each evening and hear the last post played for the fallen of the Great War.
On a Monday most shops and all restaurants and museums are closed.
As ever, our stay at Cocoon was a delight. We love Ieper and Cocoon is the perfect place to stay if you visit. Sofie is the best host you could ever wish for, with a genuine warmth and wonderful sense of humour. The rooms are immaculate and comfortable, and the breakfasts are excellent, with lovely eggs and bacon to complement a range of other items on offer. The terrace is a welcome addition, especially if the weather is hot, as it was for us. Wonderful to be back in Ieper - it has been too long!
This place is excellent - very clean and very central. Car parking is included, which is a real bonus when exploring Ypres city centre. The flat is brand new and feels very luxurious - exactly like the photos. Our host (Bernard) was super friendly and provided lots of information about Ypres and what there is to see. When we come back to Belgium to explore the WWI battlefields, we will definitely stay here again!
Great location. Our room was very small. The toilet didn’t work in the breakfast area and it also would not flush in the second room we had booked. Also when one of our party decided to go back to the hotel right after dinner, his key card didn’t work and there was no one at the front desk. someone let him into his room but the keycard wasn’t reprogrammed. breakfast was good.
The most beautiful boutique hotel run by the equally beautiful Elodie who is the most sincere and loveliest host you could ask for. The breakfast is outstanding and worth a visit just for that!! Each room is special and individual and a very high standard!! We will definitely be back if we come to Ypres again!
The Albion Hotel was
fabulous. Perfect location and very clean and comfortable. We would not hesitate to go back or recommend to our friends. Breakfast was very good. Staff were so lovely and helpful. Secure parking was great. All in all we had a very good visit to Ypres and will be back.
Elodie is the hotel owner and was very friendly and efficient. The rooms were artfully decorated, comfy and clean. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. We had a great visit at the Main Street Hotel. The location was a short walk from all the sights to see in Ypres.
Apartment was lovely, much better than I expected from the photos. It was spacious and clean. Karin and her husband were very accommodating and quick to communicate. The location itself is right in the centre of Ieper, a beautiful charming town.
Perfect. Nice quiet little hotel in a quiet part of town but not too far from all the sights in the centre (took me about 10 minutes to walk to the market square). Lovely staff, lovely room, nice breakfast and all in all good value.
Great location, lovely staff members, quite inside the hotel, large rooms and bonus of English tv channels. Quiet bar but really nice atmosphere and so close to the centre of Ypres and the Menin Gate
The hotel is situated a few miles from the centre of Ypres and next to the Hooghe crater. The older part has character and the new section is modern and clean with air conditioning.
The hotel suited my needs perfectly, a place to stay while I visited the region. Very clean, extremely friendly, very well located for the centre of ypres.
