-Communicative and convenient location in a new mall on the edge of the old town
-Nice room, good beds; prices are okay
-Breakfast was good in terms of quality and variety; I also liked that it was available up till 11 am
-The breakfast place is also a restaurant during the rest of the day and has a decent menu
-The rooftop bar is a small, but classy gem and offers a wonderful view over the city with friendly personnel and good cocktails
-Coffee machine with complimentary capsules in the room

Good choice of restaurants with some posh chocolate shops and good beers. Quite a good range of chain stores and niche smaller shops.
Really like its compactness and easy train ride from Brussels.

The Japanese Garden, the largest in Europe, is well worth a visit.
Best restaurant we found was de Orangerie, sited in a long atrium. Nice menu includes Flemish favourites. Attentive staff.
Best bar is Koks&Tales, a slick cocktail bar.

Hasselt is a really interesting visit.
Hasselt is a really interesting visit. Its a small city centre that you can walk around with ease. Clean and very modern. Heavily pedestrianised so easy to get around on foot. Has a bit of an 'upmarket Brighton' feel about it. We liked it. Good for a long weekend visit (but no more).
Its not cheap to eat out in Hasselt but there is a huge amount of choice. We struggled to choose restaurants (wish we had eaten in the Orangery, as setting was lovely). People seemed very affluent and well dressed. Lots of shops.
We stayed for the Plopsa Indoor attraction, which we thought was very good. Our hotel was about a 20 minute walk from the city centre to the venue (the reviews suggest parking there is expensive). Attraction great for the kids and, even though summer, was surprisingly quiet. One word of advice, don't eat there. Its over priced and terrible.

Hasselt is a cute town.
Hasselt is a cute town. We were there when the shops were closed but the nightlife and choice of restaurants in the centre were great. We ate at a fantastic restaurant called Botanique (cater for vegetarians and vegans) and the service was great.

Hasselt is a small accessible city with many trendy shops, restaurants and bars (cocktail, wine ...). However, if you want to eat at a restaurant of your choice, it's advisable to book!
The best way to get around is by bicycle - once again, it's advisable to
book your bicycle in advance.
The city is safe for walking at night.
By car, it's close to beautiful woods and country side with plenty of excellent hiking paths.

Typical off the tourist track Belgian city.
Typical off the tourist track Belgian city. Lots of high end shops. Good choice of resturants. Staff in Tourist office very helpful.
Driving could be a bit problematic as streets are closed off for no apparent reason, giving the sat nav problems.
Building works (until 2020) in main square, new sewers.
The owner was welcoming and helpful as he recommended and reserved a nice restaurant for us. The breakfast was abundant and well appointed, we could order bacon and eggs which is rare in Belgium. Unfortunately their restaurant only opens on Fri-Sat, it smelled really good in the kitchen when we checked in on Thurs. Our accommodation was good, comfortable bed, good shower. The heating unit works well but we turned off for the night. The owner and his partner are very enthusiastic and very keen for the clients to be happy.
We came late and the responsible of the hotel has waited for us more than one hour after the check in to explain everything with keys, rooms, breakfast... She was calm and happy to explain all of these to us. The room has everything we needed, everything was clean and in order, I felt like in my house. The breakfast was served from her and it was extremely delicious, especially the pieces of Belgian chocolate with bread, it was delicious. I would choose the hotel again if I visit Hasselt again.
We had an amazing stay at Maison Stout. The hotel is very beautifully decorated and the room was pleasant to stay in. We came for a wedding and so we couldn’t meet the standard check-in time but the hostess was lovely and flexible and so it was no issue. She even arranged for some coffee and bread in the morning so we had some sustenance after a full night of celebrations which was highly appreciated. I would definitely stay again and recommend this place to anyone!
Check in was simple and efficient, with plenty of organized and clear information provided by our host prior to check in. This spacious, quiet flat has everything you need including kitchen & bathroom essentials and an absolutely stunning outdoor deck with views of Hasselt. Walkable to shops, groceries & restaurants.
Nice hotel located in the centrum of the beautiful city of Hasselt. Very comfortable and clean. The room was spatious. The hotel proposes a parking (for 14 EUR/day) which is at very close walking distance from the hotel itself, which is very convenient. The breakfast was excellent. I really recommend this hotel!
New, modern and very clean hotel. Very well located. Super comfortable bed and rooms. Great selection for breakfast. They have parking garage which is connected with a hotel directly with a lift - it is narrow, manageable for sure, but it does require a bit of skill when you are entering. It costs €15 a night
Warm welcoming - Quick Check in and out - Tasty Breakfast with he super Beetroot Shot - Parking available next door at a fair price - Super Design - Real Boutique Hôtel - Funny Lift Experience - Cosy and Confortable - Family owned touch ! - Umbrella available - Few walks away from best restaurants in town.
Great living space. Sofa is super comfy and can definitely sleep a person easily.
Kitchen is well equipped with great utensils, crockery, dishwasher & detergents.
Large bedroom. Bed is big and comfy.
Air con in bedroom.
Location is very central to restaurants and bars. Short walk to supermarkets.
It's a very beautiful hotel and looks very new. Great breakfast and a nice staff. The lady who was serving us at breakfast was lovely! The umbrella in the room was very handy. The bathroom was small, but nice and efficient.
Very friendly staff. Great and complete breakfast served in the restaurant. Good equipped rooms and very cosy queensize beds. Parkinggarage underneath the hotel makes it easy to unload your baggage.
Everything was perfect. Cozy house, calm place and very friendly owners.
it was perfectly clean and comfortable. Very close to supermarket and center of Hasselt.
The owners are incredibly welcome and interesting. We had a wonderful time talking about life in general and loving it. I will recommend this hotel anytime
