A big plus was the two seater couch as many motels these days do not provide armchairs and it is necessary to sit on the bed to watch TV.

I would avoid the Diamond House Heritage Restaurant and Motor Inn ... for a start there is no restaurant , no microwave in the room and no room service

Our stay was not long enough, just an overnight one on the way to our destination. The room location was peaceful, spacious and clean. Towels were very thin and no extras given.
We were lead to believe there was an on-site restaurant where we could eat Dinner and breakfast unfortunately not when we were there - it was closed

It was very clean and had all facilities. The kitchen had all the required gadgets including airfryer. The beds were comfy and the bathroom was spacious and new. It was perfect for a days stay for family of 5.

Stawell itself is a decent place but check accommodation and maybe pay a bit more for peace and quiet and choose somewhere in the back blocks away from traffic.
25 minutes from Halls Gap, the zoo and the Grampians.
Shops are accessible with a few cafes.
The host here was very friendly. Arriving as a very late booking and arrival I was amazed how friendly and courteous we were welcomed. The room was very large and well presented and spotlessly clean. I am a Motel operator myself and would definitely recommend to any of my guess touring the area.
Amazing service! They help us to plan our day and recommend us many places to go; and no just that, the room was beautiful and the cleanliness too!; and no just that ! , they guide us to a place with a beautiful view and we had PICNIC there.
Clean comfortable room. Good facilities and very nice welcoming staff. The only small issue was the noise from frequent trucks passing by (not really a motel issue - as I did choose the location).
Shantel, the owner was awesome. Our car broke down near Stawell on our way back to Adelaide from Melbourne and she was so helpful and understanding.
The rooms were clean and comfortable too.
