A town that has survived and thrived against all the odds!
A town that has survived and thrived against all the odds! Several friends had recommended visiting the town again to view the new silo projections at night. It was a great show and highlighted the town's amazing history. Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.

Plan you trip around the Pichi Richi Railway operating days, the trip to Woolshed Flat is great. For an extra special occasion, check to see when the "Coffee Pot" is operating along the Pichi Richi Railway, it is a unique experience with three course lunch served at Woolshed Flat.
Other local attractions include Flinders Gin, locally produced Gin, the local flavor to try is Quandong.
The local Restaurants, Cafe's and Hotels all offer traditional, country hospitality.

Quorn is a really nice town and has the bonus of being the base for the Pichi Richi Railway. Had breakfast at the Quandong Cafe, great food. The IGA supermarket has got nearly everything one wants too. Quorn’s streets are wide and there is plenty of room to park. The pubs do a good trade too. Its a great base for all the walking trails, gorge visits and 4W driving, and has a great caravan park too.

Flinders Gin was a highlight for us, the gin tasting experience was superb & the products for sale were of a high standard.
We rode on the steam train which has always been something we've wanted to do.
Unfortunately, a lot of shops were empty, sign of the times in rural area's I guess. Only 1 pub was open and was fully booked for dinner when we were there, though we did have the option to take away food.
There was a beautiful lawned area with a fountain behind the old courthouse (I think).
The butcher's meat was delicious and good variety to choose from.
All of the local people were open, helpful & friendly to us.

Attractive , accessible outback town with good pubs & substantial food. Few quirky shops ( & shop owners) and basic facilities run by friendly people. We came to ride the Pichi-richi Railway run by dedicated & knowledgeable volunteers and it did not disappoint. If you like desert landscapes and endless vistas, this is a good spot to visit and an excellent starting place to explore to Flinders Ranges. Did not have the time to do more this time but i have been here before and will surely come again. Great Gin distillery in town - recommend this although there are some hard choices to make! Also is a waypiont on the Heysen Trail for hikers
Lovely room and heaps of space. Nice little kitchenette as well. Really comfortable and nice quiet location. Even had our own personal garage for car. Host provided some great local advice as well which was most helpful. If we ever pass through Quorn again will definitely stay here again.
We loved the Quorn-er House, reminded us very much of Grandmas house. Location was great. Absolutely lovely waking up to the sound of the birds. The Tim Tams in the fridge was a lovely gesture. We would definitely stay again.
The front of house staff knew we would arrive after their usual close time but waited for us to check in. Greeted us told us about the Quorn light show, where we could eat & were very accommodating indeed
The closeness to where I wanted to be. . Friendliness of the staff was excellent. Obvious that the owners are trying to keep the old historic hotel in good condition.
Great location. The host was friendly and gave us advice on the best places to eat out in Quorn. Would highly recommend staying here if you are in the Quron area
