Loved watching sunset from lounge.
Well appointed - thoughtful little touches - amazing bathroom . Host Elana left the heater on for us - super friendly and posted home an item I had left behind . Cozy in the cold .

Queenstown in rich in history and you'll definitely need atleast a week to experience all that it has to offer.
Avoid the mountain view motel and the empire hotel, both were lacking and that's putting it nicely but the town itself is incredible.

Have to wait a couple more years to get the train going through to Strahan again . This will be the highlight of the area. Had a great meal at the Empire hotel. We did the paranormal tour of the old hospital, bit overpriced for what you get, still not convinced of the presence of spirits though.

Queenstown is a fabulous place to visit.
Queenstown is a fabulous place to visit. There's a lot to see, some great walks, and the people are really friendly and helpful. It's an old mining town surrounded by spectacular mountains and you'll need more than a few days to fully appreciate what it has to offer. We were there for 4 days during the Unconformity Festival held biannually in October but wished we had longer. The weather was fabulous for the first 2 days and then it rained, which is quite common in this area but shouldn't put anyone off visiting. One of our favourite places to eat was JJ's where we had delicious homemade vegetable soup and absolutely delectable bread and butter pudding! The Gallery Museum was also a highlight with its wonderful mining history display. Even just walking around the streets is a treat. This quirky town should be on everyone's itinerary when visiting Tasmania - but don't forget your raincoat.

Queenstown has lost most of its population.
Queenstown has lost most of its population. There are many vacant storefronts on Main Street. We enjoyed our overnight stay but found no reason to stay longer. I hope they find a way to revitalize their town! Nice people and great food at our hotel.

The town was so cute, I could come again when I return to Tasmania. I've told family and friends who travel to Tasmania to stay at queenstown and come to mountain view motel accommodation was lovely and the beds were excellent thank you very much 😊 Mary
This is an old hotel that has been restored over last 7 years after being abandoned for 20 years.
Proprietor is friendly, helpful and has so much knowledge of the area.
Nice breakfast each day. Whilst not cooked, plenty of options.
Our room was at front with an extra room for sitting. Bed was comfy but was a double so a little small for me at 6.4.
Queenstown is nice town but has declined in occupancy due to mine shutdown. 2 pubs left out of 14. Eat early as options virtually nil after 8pm.
Sharon on the front desk was absolutely beautiful, took the time to tell us about some of her favourite things around Queenstown - unfortunately we didn’t have time to visit everything but have noted them down & will for sure be back to do them !! Room was comfortable & extremely clean - perhaps one of the cleanest places we stayed whilst travelling Tas. Facilities in the room were also great, microwave, kettle & toaster.
It is by far the best B&B we have stayed. Karen & Steve have put so much love into the place and services. They gave excellent helps even before we got there, providing detailed instructions on how to get there, booking the restaurant & activities for us, etc. It was an experience we'd never forget. Highly recommend to anyone who visit Queenstown/Strahan area!
