The guesthouse is very charming and right in the middle of town, surrounded by restaurants and within walking distance of whatever you may need. If you’re a skier, there is a cool outdoor apres-ski bar across the street and there is a ski bus stop (goes to two great resorts) about a minute away.
The host is incredibly hospitable and goes out of her way to make your stay more comfortable. Every morning, there was a very nice breakfast to look forward to. The room was tidied every day—and she even brought me Christmas cookies! If you want a cold beer in the evening, you can buy one there for a good price. It’s also not a problem to store ski and snowboard equipment there.

It was a quick walk from the train station, and the ski bus stops right in front of the property. Getting around Mallnitz from here was easy!
The apartment was spacious and clean. The host family was really accommodating - we had a nice dinner with other guests around the campfire in the common area.

The apartments is exactly as in pictures - just beautiful. Fully equipped, modern and clean. You even get a google home mini Bluetooth speaker is you forget yours as we did. The beds were comfy, views from balcony with the surrounding mountains very impressive. The only a bit tricky thing is the bathroom, you have to squeeze in a bit to avoid the wet floor after someone showers but it at least wakes you up in the morning. Supermarket is just around the corner which is convenient. Parking was also great.

Mallnitz is a picturesque small and beautiful alpine town.
Mallnitz is a picturesque small and beautiful alpine town. Once it was very important because of "Auto-Schleuse" train that brought cars under Tauern mountain ridge, through the tunnel, from Salzburger Land to Kaernten, and vice versa. More than 500 000 cars were transported that way each year, but today - because of the Tauern Autobahn - the number is around 100 000.
Also, there is a nice skiing area in the near vicinity, the Ankogel. But, because other, more modern skiing facilities that were built in the meantime, also nearer to today's autoroutes, Mallnitz is not so busy anymore.
Still, it has everything: from small pastry shops to restaurants, hotels and ski equipment shops. Small town square is pretty as well as fast stream that runs through town center.
There is plenty of possibilities in Mallnitz for recreation: besides Ankogel ski area, there are "Langlauf", trekking and sledding trails, as well as public swimming pool (heated and closed) with wellness center and tennis courts. Everathing is first class.

Just a 3 min car ride / or a longer walk away, you find a lovely area to hike and walk around in the nature.
Die Ankogelbahn is also very close.
the entire area is great and full of activaties and generous natural sceneries.
I can only recommend the entire Hohe Tauern National Park.

Definitely worth visiting. So far we were there only in the winter and it offers many interesting and fun activities but surely it is lovely during all other seasons too. The village itself is small but it has everything you might need during your stay

Is a small town in a beautiful neighborhood, the area offers great excursions all year round. Its railway connection is organized according to Austria's professionalism. Billa grocery store locally. A smaller disappointment was for us the narrow selection of restaurants and pubs that opened was.

Mallnitz is small village up in the mountains. You can find there a grocery, a swimming pool with saunas and an ATM as well. We prefer places like that cause it's not overcrowded. It's near a ski area Ankogel /3-4kms/ - you can go by car or take a ski bus from Mallnitz. Another quite close ski area is Mölltaler Gletscher /20km/ and there are also opportunities for hiking, skitouring, cross-country skiing, playing pétanque or tennis and so many other winter and summer sports.
Florian was really a great host, he made us feeling very welcome from the very beginnig.
He gave us lot of useful tips on trekking and walks to do in the surroundings and we were amazed by the beautiful landscape we discovered at Hohe Tauern national park.
The apartment was comfortable and well equipped. The terrace was huge and with great views over the mountains.

It way my first time staying in a camping, but I couldn’t have chosen better! Mallnitz is a gorgeous town surrounded by mountains, woods, river and so Camping HOCHoben. The building and the facilities are modern, well-equipped and exceptionally clean. Before our holiday I was a bit afraid of the bathroom’s condition, but eventually it turned out it is even better and cleaner than I thought. I can highly recommend to stay here, you won’t be disappointed!
The apartment has a great view to the mountains and it is almost in the center of the town. Well-equipped and clean and quiete place.
Mallnitz is a super town. Really nice and clean in the summer as well.

First time in Austria and on the Alps mountains and it was so great and so nice.
The studio was perfectly clean, cozy and comfortable, equipped with everything necessary. The area is quiet and peaceful, ideal for a relaxing vacation. The host Florian is very friendly and always willing to provide helpful advice. The location is very close to the Ankogel ski area, and about 20-30 minutes by car from the Molltaler Gletscher. We would definitely visit again, if we plan another ski vacation in the Mallnitz area.
We were delighted that Guttenbrun is finally open for guests. It is a Mallnitz symbol, has lots of character and it is in an absolutely gorgeous location. We were already in Mallnitz for the last 10 days ( we travel to Mallnitz every year for about 2 weeks in the winter and 2 weeks in the summer) when we decided to stay for a night there. In the end we couldn’t stay due to the reasons below.
It was a quick walk from the train station, and the ski bus stops right in front of the property. Getting around Mallnitz from here was easy!

Breakfast, location, free parking near to the hotel. The entire characteristic, somehow old-school / rustic Austrian / Alpine style hotel, that's what we looked for. The room was really simple but comfortable and clean. The check in and check out went extremely smooth.

Location itself, Mallnitz had everything we needed. It was our hub for every trip we planned. Ankogel, Grossglockner, Raggaschlucht. Our daughter was delighted with goats, and little playground in front of the hotel.
Room 1 was spacious, warm, bed was comfortable. Parking was good and it is at the backyard of the hotel. Good location for skiers. Breakfast was tasty and rich. Service was great. Responsive host over the Viber.
Sonja and the family are the nicest people in Mallnitz. We have been going there 3 winter seasons in a row. We really like brakfast, sauna included, and comfy rooms, with ski room to dry the boots.
Located in the centre of Mallnitz it's an excellent starting point for hiking and/or skiing. Hotel offers solid dinner and decent breakfast. Staff was very helpful.
