I personally do not ski, I came to take awesome pictures of the mountains and I was not disappointed! Beauty is all around :))
Also I liked gourmet food and some luxury shopping. Can recommend a big Strolz shop and a terrace restaurant of the Arlberg hotel, which also has a good DJ.
So, if you want to feel pampered, spoilt and glamorous, come to Lech :))

Lech is one of, if not the best, ski resort in Europe imo.
Lech is one of, if not the best, ski resort in Europe imo.
Beginners can start at the Fluhen drag lift then move on to the runs above Oberlech served by Petersboden, Weibermahd and Kriegerhorn lifts. When feeling confident there is the fun option to ski over to Zurs which is a superb run. Just beware the blues directly above Lech are steep and probably should be marked red at the bottom.
Intermediates can progress to the runs above Zug, ski in Warth-Schrocken and complete the "white ring" to St Anton. For experts there are many black runs and off-piste throughout the Arlberg area.
During our week the conditions were significantly better in Lech than in St Anton and the Arlberg had better snow than most (as is usually the case).
Lech (& Oberlech) village is beautiful and there are plenty of restaurants and bars. Oberlech is easily accessible by gondola which runs until 1am. One can ski to Zurs or St Anton or take a bus. There is sledging and hiking for non skiers and meeting others for lunch is simple.
The drawbacks compared to its main European competitors are that it doesn't have the size or nightlife scene of St Anton, Verbier, Meribel, Zermatt or Val D'Isere. Nor does it have the extent of beginner skiing of Courchevel 1850. Apart from that it is very, very tough to beat as Europe's premier ski resort.

Lech is a very nice little town with all the amenities.
Lech is a very nice little town with all the amenities. Easy to walk everywhere and the blue bus is free. It is however expensive so be prepared. The skiing is dependant on the snow conditions. The Blues are not always blues so beginners beware.

Lech is the best resort in the entire alps!
Lech is the best resort in the entire alps!
It's not huge and crazy like St. Anton, rather it's smaller and refined.
It boasts the MOST snowfall of any resort in Europe (along with Warth which is on the backside of Lech.)
The only problem is that Lech is very expensive €€€€€ and it books out really fast. So it's a nice splurge trip maybe once a season, but is too pricey for most people to go more than that (especially families.)

The apartment was beautiful and very well equipped.
The apartment was beautiful and very well equipped. The proprietor came to collect us from where the coach had dropped us as we couldn’t get a taxi. The property is genuinely ski in/ski out. The hotel next door, the Salome, was a great place to lunch and dinner and hang out on the sun terrace. Easy busses into the Center of town run every half hour and it’s a 10 minute journey from 5 mins walk away. All in all a lovely stay.

The hotel is in a superb location for the slopes and is incredible value for money. The room was clean and very comfortable. Above all else, the host family were welcoming and went way beyond what I would have expected from the start, with wine and chocolates in the room and offering breakfast at no extra cost. I became unwell during my stay and they checked on me regularly and brought food to my room. I felt like I was being hosted by friends. I cannot express how grateful I am and how happy I would be to return there again.
We arrived in a rainy, dark evening on 7th August. The temperature was 5 Celsius... The owner Caroline welcomed us warmly, and encouraged us that summer would return from the next day. And so it happened. She was exceptionally kind and helpful during our 1 week stay, as her staff too.
Lech am Arlberg is a BEAUTIFUL place for both summer and winter seasons, it is worth visiting! Lots of ski lifts, hiking trails, biking possibilities, cool and green forest and pastures, hillsides with whistling marmots :-)
Ulli is the best host we had the pleasure of ever meeting. She really goes out of her way to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfast is simple, but excellent, with wonderful muesli prepared fresh daily. Daily housekeeping keeping the room super clean. Very nice and comfortable sauna. And the self-served beverage fridge with selection of Austrian wine is a super nice touch.
Hope to be back soon
We had previously eaten at this hotel a few times during stays in other hotels and when a weekend opportunity came up last minute we jumped at the chance. It is in a great location in Oberlech and the staff are really super friendly and helpful. The food is also excellent. Luggage transfer is seamless, and the service is, all round, perfect.
A lot ! Excellent family run hotel , Martin and the staff were fantastic - could not have asked for a better service from them . Dinner each night was a gastronomic feast , supported by a breakfast of copious choice. Location next to the main cable lift is perfect . Ski room , with heated boot rack and sauna room were ideal .
All in all we have enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
The hostess and staff were very friendly and welcoming.

At first its being greeted by an amazing lady with a pleasant smile always. Rooms were spacious and clean. Had facilities of a hotel. Breakfast was decent and considered more croissants for us as we wanted halal food. Very Accommodating and Friendly Staff and Hotel.
Super clean and convenient if you want to stay in Oberlech. Ski in ski out (a short walk). Super organized getting ski passes. Fresh bread delivery optional. Ski lockers at the entrance. A short walk uphill from the Gondola connecting Oberlech with Lech proper.
The staff were brilliant and the pool and saunas were excellent. Breakfast was extensive and the evening meal choice was great and varied. Our room was well appointed, very comfortable and warm. The hotel is right on the river which is picturesque.
Hotel and the rooms are very good. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, compliments to the chef and service. Swimming pool and SPA are great, all very clean and comfortable. Personnel in the hotel very friendly and helpful
A true "family run" hotel. Great attention to detail. The family as well all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The half board food was truly amazing. Honestly, one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.
Lovely staff and atmosphere. The hotel owner popped up everywhere as he is very hands on. Very nice breakfast area. Very spacious hotel with their own brewery and bakery. The indoor pool area is amazing too.
