Not a place to aimlessly wander and watch your step.
Not a place to aimlessly wander and watch your step. People are nice, but the land is heavily polluted. Always check that the place is clean. I'd prefer to never visit again, but the food was good and cheap...(check out toxicity levels of the country in any case).

We rented scooters so I can't say much about public transport as we used it once. It was bit crowded and the person that sells tickets gave us back less money than he was supposed to.
I loved visiting Boville reservoir and Dajti, also Durres.
You are always able to eat outside as the costs of the food is not so expensive, and the food is also very nice. I have to say that the more local food you try the better.

The food, the sea side, the mountain views were superb.
The food, the sea side, the mountain views were superb. I loved the combination of old and new architecture. Also, don't judge a book by its cover (don't judge the buildings/apartments from the outside). Also, it has a good bus system. If you are a solo traveller on a low budget just use the bus. There are bus systems to and fro the airport.

Tirana is a great gem, not explored and seen yet properly to the world, it's a hidden gem of the Eastern part of the Mediterranean that no one would think of many many years ago. It has a mixture of everything, lots of heritage of different occupation. Lots of history, mixture of religions and culture, amazing landscape and impeccable nature and landscape, sunny throughout the year. Extremely hospitable and friendly people, they would die to help you. Great local and traditional cuisine, very delicious, fresh and organic too.

Very noisy and congested as expected.
Very noisy and congested as expected. People are generally friendly. Interesting sights such as the house of leaves, BunkArt 1 and 2. Good coffee. Very cheap to eat and travel and do stuff. You'd probably see all the sights in three days so plan to go further afield if staying a week. We went to Duress which is ok but don't expect beautiful beaches and make sure you get accommodation in the centre unless you like walking along endless highways to get to the centre. If you can go to the south which we didn't do, but be mindful that public transport whilst regular and cheap and easy to locate is very slow out of Tirana as its incredibly congested. Make sure you take a waterproof coat as the weather is extremely variable and when it rains it rains. We had 5cm on the day day and water was everywhere! Also take with you low expectations and a sense of humour and you'll enjoy it. It's an extremely poor country and the infrastructure is in desperate need of major change if its going to meet its plans to apply to join the EU but its worth a visit. The people are smart and friendly and not pushy and in Tirana generally speak English.

I am glad to have ben there, there are some interesting spots to see,

The hotel is close to the city centre and just a short walk away from the Air Albania Stadium. Our host, Klisiard was very helpful from the moment we made our reservation on booking.com. It was really great to ask for information about the city or where to grab a small bite. We arrived by car and we could easily park next to the hotel. Such a nice place and nice people, hopefully we’ll be able to come back for a longer stay!
We enjoyed staying at Mercure. The rooms are clean, well equipped and modern. The house keeping staff do an exceptional job. The receptionists were very helpful too. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good deal a few miles from Tirana city center. The hotel is also close to main road so you can easily get transport to the city centre.
The best experience i have ever had in Albania. The property was in the city center, only 3 minutes away from “Sheshi Skenderbej”.
The house was so comfortable. Everything was so clean and tidy. Also the boy was so humble and so helpful. He suggested us a lot of restaurants and places i must visit in Tirana.
I would highly recommend it.
Staff - Location - Cleanliness - Strong WiFi signal.
Loved the bed mattress quality!
Very central location, close to everything in city centre just by walking. Bus to airport is only about 10 min walk from the Hotel, as well as The Opera House, The National Museum, the Bunker Museum, Tirana Castle as well.
Highly recommend 👌🏽
