We loved everything about the place and the surrounding. What a peaceful oase! We looked for a place between Lissabon and Porto where we can experience the Douro Valley for a few days and this place met all our wishes and expectations. You DO need a car though.
We’ve been welcomed by a lovely owner Emanuele which owns also a bakery close by. That’s where the warm bread each morning for breakfast came from. And…they make the most delicious Pastel de Nata! If you look for a peaceful place, look no further.

This property is lovely. Two comfortable bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a full living room with fireplace, 3 balconies (one accessed from one of the bedrooms and one with dining table for meals outside), a large fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. We were met by a lovely friendly lady who laid out a welcome snack with bread, homemade jams, cheese, ham, pastries, wine, water and Port wine. The view is breathtaking with vineyards at the quinta looking out to the mountains. We parked right inside the next to the house. I cannot fault a single thing and will definitely return if I am in the area again. Perfect accommodation for a short or long visit for a family of 4 or 2 couples.

Luisa was incredible! We stayed 3 nights here and loved our time. It was relaxing and filled with making us feel at home! She provided us with a fridge full of food upon arrival and a small bottle of her own wine. Each morning she bought us fresh bread, cakes, eggs, juice etc which was such a nice touch! As we were heading out one morning she caught us and showed us the wine being made in the process which was fantastic to see! Always a text or call away and lots of recommendations and even offer to use the pool in her other property. We couldn’t recommend this place more - perfect location for a stay in the Douro Valley!

Very friendly welcome from Luisa. Some lovely local fruit and vegetables and other food given to us to use. The accommodation and the kitchen have everything one needs for an enjoyable stay. We also tasted local wine produced by the family which is of high quality. The surrounding area is beautiful for nature lovers and Alijo itself is an attractive and charming town. Fernanda was so friendly and helpful. Gave us a tour of the winery and lots of tips on places to visit around and about suited to our interests. The breakfast was delicious.

The pictures do not do the property justice! Quinta de Fiaes is set in a gorgeous location and the property is beautiful. The apartment was very spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. However, what really sets Quinta de Fiaes apart is the hospitality and graciousness of the owners. Guests’ comfort is clearly paramount and we felt so welcomed and cared for. The meals were amazing as was the wine! I could not recommend this stay highly enough!
Bruno gave us a very warm welcome and upgraded our room. The location is beautiful and tranquil. The view can’t be beat. We were even blessed with a rainbow over the fields after a rainstorm, which made our experience feel magical. We loved the smell of lavender in the main garden, and the walk down to the river. The homemade dinner was tasty and generous. The bed was very comfy and the kitchen had all of the essentials.
The Quinta is set in a stunning and tranquil location overlooking the Pinhão river valley. it is ideally located for trips in the Douro valley with plentiful vineyards and other places of interest to explore.
The hosts Bruno and Annamaria are charming and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. Highly recommended.
