So the concept of an online checking, an online key and a staff less hotel seemed a tad odd at first, but in reality it works wonderfully well. The location is absolutely fantastic. You're smack dab in the middle of Alkmaar yet you're slightly off the beaten path so there's not too much noise at night. The rooms are very spacious and the beds are great.

We stayed at one of the appartments, 30B, the bigger one. It was really nice. Comfy bed, nice living room area, kitchen with all important necessities. Also the bathroom offered some nice small items like body lotion, shower gel and shampoo. There is also a hairblower.
The location is also good. Really close to the old town of Alkmaar and the Kaasemarkt.
We arrived by train, meaning we had to walk from the Alkmaar Stationsweg train station to the apartment for about 20min.
Communication with the owner also worked effortlessly.

first, i was not aware that this place was a bunker and military fortress for the first work war and when we knew it was so exciting !! the place is spectacular and so unique.. the spa was the best i visited so far.

The space we rented is the old living quarter of the skipper on a vintage barge, including the wheelhouse, which is turned into a pleasant comfortable veranda. There is a nice living room and an intimate, comfortable bedroom, so pleasant to stay in. The view over the Zaan canal, to the old city is charming. One can park the car just in front of the gangway, which is a plus. We came to the Netherlands, especially for this barge and we did like it as an experience. The owners were so pleasant to deal with, always reachable on the phone and so helpful during our stay. Thank you for the wonderful time!

Excellent location and lovely host. Naomi is a very nice person, we really felt very well in her place. She also gave us very valuable recommendations for the visits. The breakfast was just excellent! The location is ideal: very calm and in the middle of nature. You can take a bus in the village with direct connexion to Amsterdam central station (45 min).
Naomi was waiting for us and welcomed us very warmly. This country house is beautifully situated and even more nicely decorated inside. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were well equipped and everything was very clean. Breakfast was varied and the coffee was delicious. The time at Naomi's home put us in a great mood for our onward journey. We fell in love with the Netherlands.
