Our first night in Sri Lanka was spent at Taru Villas in Kandy, a beautiful boutique hotel nestled in the heart of the city. In conclusion, our overall experience was exceptional, and I wholeheartedly recommend Taru Villas to anyone visiting Kandy. These are things why you should choose this place to stay in: 1. In whole house there are only 2 rooms. So it often happens that you will be the only guest in whole house. In this case Asitha - the owner will let you use both rooms. There is real tropical rain under the open sky in one of them. 2. Asitha is very attentive owner. He takes care of every single moment while you staying. 3. Amazing breakfasts 4. Quiet please among the jungle 5. Parking 6. Price for staying is very low. We even thought owner will ask to pay more than price booking :)

Alex homestay is one of the best homestays I’ve stayed in! Malka is an amazing host and you immediately feel welcome! The property have an amazing view (I considered staying and extra night just for the view), my room was very delicate and clean and had a private attached balcony (which was a very positive surprise to me). I had access to a kitchen corner and fridge. There is busses going into the old part of town all the time, so it is no problem that the homestay is a bit outside of the main tourist area. I can highly recommend Alex homestay!

Good location. Nice and clean room with a good bathroom. Sri helped us rent a bike and picked us up from the train station. He puts in a lot of effort. If you like to socialize with the host, this is the place for you.

Viper was very helpful and an engaging host, sharing historical stories about SL. He made the experience special. The location is off the hustle and bustle of the city, which was perfect for us. Breakfast was delicious; both continental and Sri Lankan. We had a wonderful time at Tenthola and in Kandy.
