Absolutely amazing stay on a beautiful lake area. The hosts were incredibly nice, provided us coconuts on arrival, fruits during our stay and made sure we can reach them anytime and answered all our questions. We could use the washing machines, the rooms were very big (3BR and 3 Bathrooms). We used the kitchen, the bbq to grill fish and cuddled a lot with the puppy Lanka who the previous owners left (dogs will hang around there but obviously you don't let them in). The hammock was a very nice bonus too. All in all we would all totally agree that we got an amazing value for what we paid and had the best days over there. I would recommend to get motorbikes to get around because PickMe will not always come there or its a high price.

The moment I stepped into Malabar Hill Hotel, I felt an overwhelming sense of serenity. Nestled amidst nature, it’s the perfect place for those seeking a calming retreat from the hustle and bustle. Imagine waking up to the chirping of birds, an expansive forest that stretches as far as the eye can see, with the azure sky above and a tantalizing glimpse of the ocean in the distance. And the pool? Simply a dreamy oasis. At their restaurant, each dish is a culinary masterpiece, with flavors so authentic, you can taste the richness of every spice. A little tip: if you prefer milder flavors, do request them to tone down the spices. My stay was made even more memorable by the trips we took. The Galla Fort exudes historical charm, the tea trip was an enlightening journey into the world of tea-making, and the Kollaghan Lake was a visual feast with its picturesque islands, lively birds, playful monkeys, and yes, we even spotted a crocodile! Gavin’s place was our favourite place to stay in Sri Lanka! The location of the house was so tranquil, and the house was so peaceful. The pool was wonderful as was the outdoor shower and the rooms, we all slept the best we did throughout the whole trip. We had our own Tuk Tuk and it took us about 10 mins to get in to town. Gavin’s housekeeper Dilshan went above and beyond every morning, making us an amazing breakfast with eggs, toast, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Brilliant hospitality and lots of suggestions / help from Gavin about what to do in the area. It was truly a stay to remember, thank you so much!

I enjoy staying at Sandaru place so much! It's 5 minutes by bike to the sea and central beaches of Veligama. You live in a forest with great natural scenery and wake up to the sounds of birds.

Where to begin.... going to Maneesha guesthouse LITERALLY feels like going home. As a solo woman, it's very important I feel comfortable and safe. Here, I feel loved and cared for like I am at home with my family. This is my 4th time in 5 years staying with this amazing family!! I cant stay away and i will definitely be back ❤️ Amma and appa are the most beautiful people and nothing is ever too much trouble. Randika (their son) is an amazing human who will be my brother for life ❤️ he will assist you with any question you may have about exploring sri lanka, including places not many tourists get to visit (and look out for his new tour guide business in the future 😍😍😍😍) They must offer the best hospitality in the world!! I have been to many places and countries and nothing comes close. You will never be hungry or thirsty, with theeee MOST delicious homemade food and drinks and plentiful portions. They can help you with scooter rental from an outstanding bike shop with top quality bikes. Randika also gave me an excellent scooter lesson to brush up on my skills and help me be fully capable driving sri lankan roads! The backthroom and room are spotless and comfortable (best pillows in sri lanka!). You'll be sure to get great sleeps here! Behind the house is a cinnamon plantation and in front is gorgeous green jungly goodness. You can relax on the balcony watching the squirels run around the trees. Monkeys and beautiful birds can be seen too. Plus the occasional wandering peacock 😄 Basically, 100000/10. ISTUTI, BUDU SARANAYI ❤️
