I have never met a nicer person than the host. Everything in the house is fine new, including the kitchen, air conditioning, and attached bath. The view from upstairs is spectacular. We had the entire villa for our stay. Then no one would have to disrupt our stay. that we wanted to stay. very quiet place. love it.

I had a very warm welcome with a huge pot of tea. The host helped me with everything - bus to Deniyaya and after I came back to him he also helped me with continuing my journey to Colombo. The breakfast was very good but always a bit too much unfortunately. When you have already been feeling full, they came with more to eat. But hey maybe another one can do this ^^. An ATM and the bus station are also nearby.

It all depends what you’re looking for, but I had a very nice stay here. The room was spacious and impeccable clean, as was the bathroom. It’s location is magnificent, right at the beachfront with the colorful fishing boats, it’s a stunning view from the balcony. The owners might be the nicest people I have met so far, they were so thoughtful of every little detail (when there was a power cut they provided candles, they drove me to the bus station, I received a coconut on arrival,…) They invited me for a wonderful home-cooked diner and taught me about their culture. If you’re looking for a beautiful quiet place or want to get in touch with local family, this is your place to be. The lighthouse is 15min walk and you can swim at the beach in front of the house. There was no warm water but it’s hot outside anyways so cold shower feels very refreshing. The breakfast was nice as well and they will check with you what you’d like.

Very sweet and genuine family. They cooked for us late in the night when we found out all restaurants were closed this day (the mother is an amazing cook!). Also we could use their scooter free of charge to make day trips. Last, they would always ask us to bring us something from the supermarket. For the first time in Sri Lanka we had the feeling it was not for money, but because they truly cared for us to have a good stay.
